After a good tasting of everything hopshire had on tap, we brought home a howler of zingabeer, a Belgian pale ale with ginger added
A- zingabeer pours a hazy ruby brown color with light carbonation and minimal lacing on the edges. Some foam lingers on the edges, while the color itself is very vibrant in the light
S- very fresh fruit, raisins, plum, and sweet malt were at the forefront of zinga. The ginger is very present, as well as the delicious Belgian yeast flavors shiny through. Some fruity esters match up well with the scent profile. Very impressed with the balance of the Belgian yeast and ginger
T- delicious flavor of bananas, clove, dark fruit are the initial taste profile of zinga. The bready yeast is well matched with the ginger flavors that provide a spicy and flavorful partnership with the abbey yeast. The malt selection furthermore creates a sweet brew that literally becomes enhanced from the ginger. They bond so well. This is a unique combination that comes together
M- carbonation is light but there. The flavors from the brew are sticky and spot on
O- zingabeer is a winner from hopshire. As the brewery mentioned, this will be a unique brew. I've had some good ginger beers but never any that have been enhanced with the Belgian yeast aspect. Very unique, we agreed that zingabeer was our favorite of the day. I wish this would be an everyday brew from these folks!
