Poured a brownish body with two finger head and lace patches. Slightly hopped up aroma but more boozy and woody than anything else (some dark fruit/caramel malts are in there). Smooth, woody body with a boozy and vanilla sweetness that is pleasant but slightly overpowers the sharp, bitter, citric (almost lemony) hop presence. Good beer, retains balance, but the hops are a little too sharp (veg-like) as well as an overbearing of booze/sweetness that overpowers the dark fruits are slight marks against this beer.

On tap:
Gave the original version a straight 4, but no review.
Pours a deep amber orange, but with amazing clarity. Head is snow white, and cowers at the edges, but survives. Some lacing.
Nose is fairly generically bitter. I get some tart pitted fruit notes like apricot and tart plum, but also unripe citrus notes and grapefruit pith.
Malty but not sweet, fruity rally, but a hint of citrus added to the plum/apricot notes from the nose. Carbonation is spot on in that its subdued, as there is a light bite of alcohol. End is very lightly pine-based and not too dry.
A solid beer, but could be more. The increased ABV probably forces this into a balanced DIPA (triple IPA??). You might not love it, but you probably won't hate it.

Had this one on site at the brewery. An average attempt a big IPA. Ok hop profile, mix of piney and resin. Finishes a little on the bitter side. Ok IPA but not exceptional.
