Jungle Jim's is huge, folks. They are so big that they purchased the old monorail system from King's Island in order to assist folks getting from one part of the store to another. Besides grocery selections of nearly every ethnicity in our diverse city, so to do they stock beer and wine from every corner of the globe. New stuff comes in every week, if I lived closer, I'd earn Frequent Visitor points or something. Not an abundance of staff, yet there always seems to be a willing employee to help me when I have a question.
DISCLAIMER - An awesome selection of stuff, but *Fair Warning* - they do not refrigerate any of their stock! As long as it's fresh or the beer is a big one with lots of hops or alcohol, check freshness dates. I purchased some Blanche de Chambly there and enjoyed one with my brother last night. I casually read the label and there on the back the freshness date said enjoy by 2-Feb-02!!! YIKES! I didn't even think to check that. The beer was good enough, but I have nixed submitting a review for it until I get a fresh sample. On the other hand, I also found a cache of J.W. Lee's Harvest Ale from 1997-2001 and promptly bought several of each year. These are tough enough to tolerate some abuse and possible mishandling. I've seen some sixers on the shelf whose label clearly stated, 'Keep refrigerated between 40 and 55 degrees, etc.' Now I'm checking some other selections from there and seeing some discouraging 'Best By' dates, I will check each bottle in the future. They don't cut breaks in price for the stuff, so make sure you're getting fresh product. Smart shopping in this fashion will ensure you the best possible experience and beverage enjoyment from libations purchased at Jungles.

Went to Jungle Jim''s yesterday. I was a little disappointed with the amount of options. I guess I was expecting more. Where I wasn't disappointed at all, was the different selections I can't get In Indianapolis. I ended up getting quite a bit. I actually even found Elderberry wine which I had been looking for. It was a two-hour trip from Indy, but worth it if your looking for some exotic foods and a different selection of beers!
