Whoa, major gusher! Filled 3 large Belgian goblets before I was able to set the bottle down, and still lost a few ounces of foam at least. All 3 goblets almost all foam. Off-white, meringue like density, with larger bubbles on edges leaving chunky, foam lace.

Smell is big on the gin, with nice herbals and some sweet cereals behind it. Good, but if you sniff to deeply, the gin burns (and I like gin, so that isn't a bias to the spirit).

Taste is hot from the gin, dirty, and much less herbal than the nose. I suppose the brett contributes, but it really does taste like a cheap London dry, less the burn. But still drinks way stronger than 5%.

Mouthfeel is dry, medium-light bodied, a little gritty.

Drinkability isn't to high. The taste is very acrid, from the sharply dry, dirty brett to the cheap gin bite. Not good, I need to "power through" to drink it.

Received in a trade, split with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip after four pour offs....this was a gusher with explosive carbonation. Murky grey hidden hue with the five finger white head that fades to leave nice lacing.

S - Aromas of brett galore, not much gin unfortunately. This is mostly a brett bomb. Light citrus lemon notes

T - Taste is loads of brett, lemons, definitely gin. Nice botanicals, faint alcohol, the lemon is nice here, good and bright. Still disappointed, bitter citrus and funky brett

M - Mouthfeel is very carbonated, distractingly so.

O - Overall this beer was an epic disappointment. Really a shame I was looking forward to this beer. Just a brett bomb though instead of being a nice gin beer.

Growler from Zupan's on Belmont

A hazy, murky, reddish copper with a dense, dirty white head that falls off to a ring leaving nice lacing. The nose is dominated by gin and its botanicals. Juniper, pine, a light citrus are all present, along with a modest funk. As with all/most de Garde beers, this is a little messy with a mildly chewy/chalky yeast aroma. There is a moderate hop aroma as well, with citrus and lemon verbena, both of which pair really well with the gin character. Bright and refreshing, this is great.

The palate opens with a blend of gin flavors, yeast and a mild tannin character. Now, the tannins don't wholly work with the juniper and in some ways, this does taste a touch oxidized (especially the hops), with a mild soapiness, though I can't tell if that's from a poor fill or poor handling elsewhere. The mid-palate has flavors of honey, a little toffee and some pine. Mildly sweet on the finish with some gin flavors, this medium-light bodied beer is mildly carbonated. Solid on the palate. Solid, tasty stuff.

Another rudzud share, thanks Matt.

Huge huge pillowy head takes up 3/4 of the glass, fades slowly with messy collapsing head, tons of messy lacing, murky gray orange color.

Nose is loaded With Brett funk, horse hair funk, as well as mild pineapple and tropical fruit funk, swirling it brings a bit of gin and juniper, lemon rind and citrus, some wheat like malt.

Taste floral and lots of citrus, lemon rind up the wazoo and funky horse blanket Brett overpowers that even, just all lemon zest and Brett. Very mild juniper gin note in the background, and mild wheaty malt toasty. Bitterness ramps with lemon rind ave little spicy bitterness. Finish dries but stays sticky, more lemon rind bitterness increases, little juniper gin late.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, way too much carb.

Overall interesting Brett and lemon rind, but just not the beer it was supposed to be, very little gin, too much bitterness, way over carbonated, etc.
