Another no thanks to rudzud I guess.

Murky hazy peach color, no real head.

Nose again those weird baking spices, like a weird cardamom nutmeg thing, little peach like citrusy fruity note, lemony funk, some toasty oak.

Taste bleh, some acidic notes, big esters, icky esters, little fruity notes, little baking spices again, phenols, unpleasant phenols and little plastic note. Finish drier boozy and sticky, more lingering phenols and esters, mild acidic note, souring notes, meh.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

Overall meh

Pour is deep golden yellow with a tight white head. Nose has some dusty brett with a good bit of tangerine and some white grape. A bit of phenol as well. Taste has a strong white grape note, phenols, faint dusty brett, notes of tangerine in back. Body is fairly full with an assertive carbonation, fairly dry and sour finish.

Another solid offering from De Garde. Chilled 750 mL poured into a Teku, yields a thin head that dissipates fairly quickly. On the darker end of the spectrum for saisons; pours a deep golden hue. Aroma is pretty funk/oak/"De Garde" dominated - they have some intangible quality to their beers. Taste is similar, with an emphasis on funk. Borderline blue cheese going on, but not unpleasant. Quite complex and if you're into wild saisons no doubt you will enjoy this. Mouthfeel is somewhat thick, probably due to a fairly modest carbonation level. I think the carb helps emphasize the more 'difficult' complexities in taste, so I cannot consider this a flaw.

Overall, another excellent De Garde beer that will be enjoyable if you like very funky/wild saisons.

Split with JLindros and Threelions.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy golden orange hue with a nice light head and faint wisps.

S - Aromas of funk, horse blanket, funk, grapes, phenolic.

T - Taste is super phenolic, oak, funk, grapes, horse blanket. Rather jumbled and unpleasant, really a mess. Feel like desay 2 was more redeeming.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, not the off, sits well.

O - Overall this beer was really rough, super phenolic. Unpleasant.

Poured into De Garde tulip.

Appearance is a turbid tannish orange. Small head that dissipates quickly to a small ring around the edge of the glass. Looks a bit too dark for a saison but with the wide variation nowadays can't really count that against it.

Aroma is aggressive on herbs and flowers. Sage, jasmine, and desert grass. Surprisingly little to no citrus at all. Also get some light spices and kola nut with a faint vanilla like oakiness in the distance.

Taste is also very herbal. Bitter flower, basil, minerals, soft lemon pith, grains of paradise, musky basement, and dusty earth. Very different but not necessarily bad enough as the score reflects.

Mouthfeel reflects that of a barrel aged saison spot on. Lower carbonation level, light body, dry as a bone. Some tartness but not as tart as a lot of funky Saisons being made nowadays.

Overall an interesting saison, very herbal and floral with some musty/funky notes to add depth. At times you get a soapy character but it's not enough to ruin the overall experience. Will be interesting to taste other saison iterations by DG.
