Poured into a large de Garde wine glass. Deep dark brown color, topped with a thin off-white head that held pretty solid and laced nicely. In the aroma, raw cacao and dark fruits. In the taste, caramel, cacao, chewy black cherry, mild sourness, wet oak. It's so easy for a beer like this to turn out bad, but de Garde did a pretty good job at it. Medium body, slightly unctuous mouthfeel, with a slight sour twinge lasting into the aftertaste. I wasn't a huge fan of this, and it's probably my least favorite dG beer so far, but all in all, it was still good.
