Deep royal purple with large bubble pink head. Nose is blackberry skins, lacto vanilla cream, a hint of plastic. Taste is a little more rounded, the fruits aren't hugely bright but are fairly clean. A bit jelly like. No plastic, subtle lacto, very gently sour. Body is light, assertive carbonation, very dry finish.

Bottle shared by Curran yesterday.

Pours a brilliant deep purplish red, with a small fizzy head, and a little bit of lacing.

When initially poured, it smells sour and of not much else. Once warmed up- the blackberry aromas come through much stronger, making it quite pleasant.

Like mentioned above, warm this guy up a little bit before enjoying. There are huge flavors of unriped sour blackberrry, lactic acid, and some lemon. This is delicious, but I wish there was a bit more in the blackberry department- there's certainly a good amount of sour blackberry, but I'd like some blackberry sweet juiciness as well to offset the sourness. Still, as it is, it's probably the best Berliner I've ever had.

Fairly light bodied, with a light and spritzy mouthfeel. There's a moderate amount of carbonation. Very, very drinkable.

My first DeGarde beer, and I'd love to try some more, especially the Imperial version of this one.
