Bottle at last night's share. Classic wild ale notes on this one, typical De Garde format, which isn't a bad thing. Aroma brings the requisite tartness and a little fruity sweetness. Taste amps up the tartness a bit but it's still pretty silky smooth, another great one from de garde.

Palate Contaminants: other beer
The look is a murky, medium-dark amber. Carbonation is fairly fine, but goes away quickly.
Smell is fairly light (with medium intensity), with some sort of Sprite-like scent crossed with chardonnay. Perfumed oak in the background. Not a whole lot that's familiar, but it's certainly interesting in a good way.
So many flavors from some sort of wine base. Hard cheese, but not particularly salty. Oaky chardonnay, slightly mineral, but the dairy is disconnected from that. The savoriness is connected to mushrooms. (I should have had this with my pasta tonight, and it might go well with Greek food.) Both moderately sweet and astringent. Acidity keeps coming back. The taste might not superior, but it is absolutely fascinating.
Carbonation is well integrated, if slightly prickly with a swish. Aftertaste has a little perfume/floral, along with grape leaves.

Off white head. Rustic orange color.
Fairly sour and acidic. Has a bit of funk to it. Lemon acidicy. Oak. Cognac sweetness.
Kind of a mess of a beer. Couldn't figure this one out. Not overly impressed.

Some cognac spice, not much though. A little bit of grapes. Some wheat, more tart than sour.
