Consumed January 9, 2017.
Pours a darker color than most wild ales and saisons from de garde, this one is straight up amber. Off white head in the 1/4" range. Aroma of wood, pretty much required as a foeder, a malty sourness. Nothing unique attributable to rye in the nose I was finding, unless it was that caramel aspect.
Taste was somewhat reminiscent of that FAIL lager they made, it was kind of an amber maltiness like here along with the wood. The sourness has more in common with a flanders than a wild ale, seemed acetic and earthier. I get some of the lemon sourness. I guess the rye is the heavier malt presence. Well carbonated. Definitely more sour than it looks. Or smells. Mouth feel had an amazing dry finish to it. Its another kick ass de garde beer that had to win me over. Its a little different than most wild ales, and they make it work, they don't just make something for the sake of doing something different, they make it different and good.

Sparkling amber with a large, active airy off-white foam that settles surprising quickly to a bubbly mat and collar.
Smell is musty, grassy and kind of metallic with a hint of almondy oak, nearing amaretto, as well as apple cider vinegar.
Taste flips the script, as sour lemon and strawberries are very prominent, which is made all the more impressive by the fact that neither were added. Sourness builds over time, with an acetic, bright white wine vinegar and lemony oak.
The body is smooth and slick, with a mildly sharp but minimal carbonation, finishing dry, and quite stinging.

Appearance: Slightly opaque golden-orange body with a bubbly thin cap of head.
Aroma: Astringent aroma with a spiciness, hints of vinegar, mild fruitiness, oak and a little bit of funk.
Taste/Mouthfeel: A lot of spicy rye and wood and funk with a little bit of, what I get a taste of, is banana that lingers on the end. A little acidic and carbonation that ends nice and smooth.
Overall: A really tasty beer. Beautiful looking and funky sour aroma and a taste that really comes through with enough oak and funk to match the aroma.

Found this one to be heavy on the rye. A distinct rye aroma and flavour permeates this beer. Mild-moderate lactic acidity, light oak, mild funk, good carbonation with an odd astringency on the backend. Still a very tasty beer that took me some time to get used to.

Classic golden hue with a nice fluffy white head for a sour. Smells terrific - Bretty, pineappley/tropical/fruity, spicy rye, old wood. Tastes the same, delicious, and balanced with the sourness sneaking up and only dominating toward the finish, smooth overall with a good vinegary prickle that never quite goes over the top. Fresh, energetic, full of life. Nice fruity, funky, woody complexity. This is excellent!
