12oz draft at Bailey's Taproom
Listed as Lambic Imperial IPA - Barrel Aged (Gin)
A: hazy orange, very little head
S: dominated by citrusy pacific NW hop aroma and followed by a tinge of sour
T: first hit by a very upfront tart taste, but the very well rounded and thirst quenching type of sour. followed by balanced citrusy hops. the last taste to come out is the gin, which complimented the sourness/hoppiness perfectly. there is just a hint of juniper berry at the end, but it doesn't take away from any of the previous flavors.
M: wet and relatively thick for a sour. good carbonation.
O: an amazing beer unlike anything else i've had before. i personally love sour IPAs and most that I've had are good but very dry. this beer distinguished itself from those with it's thick mouthfeel and the added layer of complexity from the gin barrels.
Serving type: on-tap
