On tap at the brewery.

Medium amber in color, clear, with a thin white head that held at a ringlet, dotting the glass with lace. Aroma of biscuity malts, herbal hops, ammonia. This kind of fell apart for me in the taste department. Herbal hop notes soon gave way to an uncomfortable soapiness, hints of ammonia, overlaid on a biscuity malt base. The off-flavors dominated, unfortunately. Body was light-medium, mouthfeel was crisp, but again, kind of off and awkward, making it something I probably wouldn't go back for again, especially considering this was fresh from the source.

A-Pours clear and reddish in hue. Head is a thicker chunk of off-white. Actually a pretty brew.

S-Balanced but I think there is something subtle about the malt that makes me enjoy it more than I'd expect. Lightly spicy. Caramel and bread. Pine hops.

T-Not rewriting any brewing books here but it works. Malt is more complex. Sweet but also has dry components. Bread crusts. Hops are pine, somewhat floral and spicy.

M-Light side of medium in body. A bit creamy. Moderately carbonated.

O-Pleases in its subtleties. I also always enjoy seeing a brewery's flagship being a rather underutilized style.

Clear amber color, half a finger of bone white head,,minimal lacing.

Aroma is mostly malty with some hops underneath.

Flavor is not what I was expecting from a hoppy amber as the malt shines for the most part, though as it warmed it had a little more to offer in the bitterness department.

Mouthfeel was light medium, sort of thin, well carbonated.

Not a bad effort, but when a bottle of Vermont Ale claims to be "hoppy" on the label, it has a lot to live up to when comparing it to other hoppy Vermont offerings.
