The is my first beer from Penrose and was quite pleased. The beer poured a clear golden color with white head. The scent carried typical Belgian white IPA flare with some fresh hop presence. The taste was true to Belgian IPA form and was refreshing. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this was a good beer and would drink it again.

Draft pint at Smallbar Logan, quick review from written notes.

Slightly hazed saturated gold, orange highlights, thin layer of white foam on the surface that remains for the first sip or two. Minimal spotty lacing in the glass.

Grassy aroma, light peripheral funk, mild note of wet hay.

Taste is lightly tart and quenching, more grassiness and a mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Fairly simple and straightforward, an unfettered prototype Saison. Light bodied, thirst quenching. Easy drinking by design, P-2 would pair well with many types of dishes. Enjoyable, though a bit more rustic funk character would be nice for added balance and depth.

L: nice Amber hue, light haze, subtle lacing
S: Piney floral notes, nicely subtle, subtle hay, lemon, mild sour/funk, sunshiney Dewey pleasantness.
T: Holy crap this beer is excellent! Big hop presence at the front, light lemon/citrus meld, light burn from the CO2, lifting the subtle decadent hops inward to a mild soft bitterness that is most pleasing. Very well balanced, although I am not sure there is much malt backbone here the hops Just shine right through. I have had many, many beers of this style and I would say that this is my favorite of all time. A truly wonderful presentation Of this style. I wish I lived closer to this place.
F: very smooth, bit of a resiny afterglow. Like Taylor Swift in a glass. Hot!
O: My favorite bpa. I cannot believe the lower reviews because this beer blew my socks off and I cannot believe that it does not do the same to everyone who tastes it. A truly epic beer, folks . Do not let this one get by you without taking notice of the subtle genius behind this beer. Love in a glass that gets you drunk. Yes!

Served from tap in a shaker pint glass at WhirlyBall - Vernon Hills.

Nice to see WB still holds it down for some of the local-ish guys, allowing me to finally try out this parking garage-themed beer. It pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises Belgian yeast, assorted stonefruits, and mild orange zest. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some grass and flowers for good measure, but, make no mistake, the yeast is in command here. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a straightforward and enjoyable BPA. 'Nuff said.

Too many spices not as balanced as they claim yet still a lovely beer.

Orange hued body with a nice white head. Bright citrus nose that is very inviting. The pine and citrus flavors are very tasty for hopheads but approachable as the beer finishes clean. There is not a crushing bitterness from this pale. There's a slight spice on the midpalate from the belgian yeast, but this is a well hopped pale ale at its core. Juicy and easy to drink, which you can't say for many ales these days.

Picked up a single bottle as an extra in a trade with ksecler. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a hazed apricot hue with a fat white head that lingers a while leaving solid lacing in my glass. Aroma has earthy Belgian yeast, lemon zest and grassy hops. Flavor is Belgian yeast up front, bitter hops, fruity esters, lemon peel, light mint and herbal flavors in the mix as well. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied, silky effervescence, and tons of dry hoppy bitterness that lingers.
