Traditional, malt forward with toasted oat and caramel aroma, full body with sweet hints of toffee and bready grains – true to style, and quite the sturdy offering.

As a malt-head, I'm glad I found this. (Another curbside pickup from Beermiscuous.)
I've noted to BA that Patina is a re-release as my can was canned on the same day as Barnzy78 below.
Patina has a nice ruby patina to its brown; could have more foam. Smells are tasted grain (probably 1/2 barley) and brewers sugar. Tastes are balanced with subtle hops, but there are some heavier herbs in there that tell me Patina would be better to accompany stew or ratatouille. (Maybe next time.) Bubbles sweep away the sweet.
I'm glad Penrose re-released Patina after six years. It is work to keep this style alive among American crafters, particularly since our palate prefers hops. I also should have had more tastings of Penrose ales by now... being in the same metro and similar sensibilities. Much of Penrose's offerings are Belgian-inspired. So, I will look for them some more.

12oz, canned on 04/29/20. Brown colored body with a thin beige head. Malty aroma of caramel, toasty grain, and brown sugar. Malt driven flavors with notes of brown sugar, toasted grain, caramel, toffee, fruit, and earthy hops. Full body, sticky sweet yet smooth, ample carbonation, balanced finish. Good utilization of flavorful malt with this one. I always like drinking a beer style that is rarely brewed.

Deep brown body with a foamy cream head. Not a lot on the nose but a little caramel. Taste is oaty with a nice hint of vanilla to me. Really crisp beer and a nice version of the style. Malt forward without being overtly malty or bready. The carbonation really helps lift the flavors here and carry the malt while making it interesting. It'll sneak up on you at 7.6%.
