Served in a pint glass at the brewery.

Appearance - Deep red. Orange at the edges. Nice cream head. Good lacing. Thin layer on top.

Smell - Raw hop aroma. Like hops during the boil. Green and grassy. Caramel blends in.

Taste - Hoppy grapefruit and pine. Musty caramel with a sharp flavor. Almost a tang, but not quite. Not as pleasant as the other offerings.

Mouthfeel - Medium light. Medium carbonation. That sharp flavor lingers.

Overall - Rustic may be an apt desciptor. It has a rough feel, but decent flavors. (519 characters)

Poured on tap at the brewery into a small snifter.

Deep amber brown presented, with a light creamy head tan in color, very nice thin and excellent lacing.

Real unexpected and enjoyable nose. Fruity like caramel quality, no other way I can describe it. A light toast and almost French milky toast like sweetness of the malts, and also some peach like character too.

Palate pretty matches as the nose expects. Creamy malt flavors fill the mid palate with excellent control. Body is just a bit watery though but the flavors still manage to show through. More of that interesting peach like character and a bit of caramel mixing in.

Pretty good overall, and really unique amber. Thought it might be some other interesting style on a different whiff for sure. (764 characters)

On draft at Prohibition Pig, Waterbury, VT.

Poured a medium copper hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was Goid retention and lacing.

The smell featured light caramel malts and a soft grassy hop.

The flavor was likewise well balanced with a slight residual herbalness.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a decent standard session ale. (366 characters)
