This was stop #7 for my wife and I on a 9-day East Coast pub crawl and a family visit. The brewery is located in a fringe industrial-like area of this small community, and our GPS had some difficulty getting us the final 100 yards to this brewery. We stopped in the early afternoon on a Sunday to try the beers and to have lunch.
The brewery occupies an industrial-style building, and there is a large lean-to next to the parking lot where picnic tables are available for eating and drinking under a roof. The small taproom probably can’t hold as many as the patio, so it could get plenty crowded during the cold-weather months.
We ordered a sampler flight of all 7 of the brewery’s beers that were available. The beers are served in small snifter glasses – a nice touch, even though that glass style is not traditional for some of the beers. All of them were brewed very well to their respective style, and our scoring system gave all of them at least a B grade. The Vermont Pilsner was most notable because it’s rare to find a good one in this style. However, we thoroughly enjoyed them all.
The food was exceptional as well. It appears that it is prepared outdoors at the far end of the covered porch, so we have to wonder if the food is available year-round. This brewery is highly recommended.
