From a 355 ml bottle into a tulip. No date that I could find.

A-The beer has almost two fingers of white head from a normal pour. There is some lacing left behind as the head fades. The beer is sunny and bright straw-colored without much in the way of visible carbonation. A murk obscures the view through the glass.

S-The aroma is on the lighter side with lemon, spice, dough, Belgian yeast, and some dried grass. The smell fits the style profile, but is nothing spectacular.

T-The taste is similar to the smell, but better. Flavors include lemon (which gives just a bit of tartness), a light spice mixture, some Belgian yeast, dried grass, and a bit of musty white grape. The beer has a nice, complex mixture of tartness and doughy, spicy, sweeter flavors.

M-The heft is medium to light with semi-crisp, active carbonation. A nice example of the style.

O-This is a very enjoyable beer. Like the other offerings I have had from Off Color, this beer drinks well without trying too hard to impress with a bunch of alcohol or odd flavors. I would happily drink this again, preferably sitting outside in the sunshine of a warm summer day.

12oz bottle poured into an Idle Hands tulip glass.

A - Pours a hazy pale golden color with a faint orangey tint. A finger of rocky white head lingers briefly falling to leave an even skim coat on the surface of the beer and a thick, foamy collar around the glass.

S - Very citrusy featuring lemons and oranges up front. A bit sweet and also showing some floral aromas, traces of hay, a bit yeasty.

T - Spicy, hoppy bitterness up front backed by light citrus, a bit of a cool herbal character, grassy/hay, yeasty, a bit spicy...surprisingly good.

M - Light body, spicy hop character, lots of farmhouse fermentation goodness, spritzy medium carbonation.

O - Nice, easy drinking farmhouse ale. Not mind-blowing, but solid all around. I would buy this regularly in warmer months and be plenty happy with it. A pleasant surprise.

A - Pours a very hazy straw color. Little head that dissipates quickly and leaves little lacing.
S - Lots of lemon and citrus. Some banana and estery yeast. Tropical fruit and pear as well.
T - Lemony tartness up front, but not really sour. Bit of saltiness and apple as well. Gives way to a nice funky yeast flavor, and finishes with some tropical hop bitterness. Finishes pretty dry. Very pleasant overall.
M - Fairly carbonated, but not over the top. Light but creamy. Fits the style perfectly IMO.
O - I very much dig this beer. Best thing I've had from Off Color so far. Maybe not exactly true to the Saison style, but an extremely enjoyable beer.

a saison better in overall impression than any of its component parts taken in isolation. this is a fantastic four pack of beer, finally reasonably priced from these guys too. its hazy honey colored with large soda bubbles accumulating into a fizzy grayish white head thats relatively short lived. the nose on this suggests a basic french saison yeast, but its way too background to be just that. not sure i detect brett, but that level of funk is appearing on the smell as well, maybe a subtle brett C type strain here, real mild. wheat malt base is comfortable, round, and a good base for a very complex yeast character and a grassy bittering hop finish. i love the marketing and packaging on it just as much as the beer itself, witty and tasteful, like most of the beers ive had from off color in general actually. i hope their stuff continues to come to colorado, its unique enough to stand out, like when stillwater four packs first landed. dry as anything in the finish, despite have an oaty sweet middle. fantastic carbonation finishes it clean, just a hit of that white wine french saison yeast as it goes down. drinking all four of these in a sitting was a delight, and a sixer would not have been an issue. stoked on this.
