Had on tap as part of an off color tasting. Appearance is dark/black. Head was minimal to almost non-exsistant for my pour.
Odor was pretty complex. Creamy chocolate was number one. Sweet sugar marshmallow is second.
Taste is really pleasant. Hits first with a mix of chocolate and marshmallow. The marshmallow is more of a subtle sweetness. The chocolate hangs around throughout, but some slight toffee and a bit of alcohol come through.
Mouth feel is smooth and nice. Not as heavy as I thought.
Overall, a very unique and interesting stout. Worth a try for sure as it is well done.

12oz bottle. Poured into a Sump snifter 5/19/2014.

A- as expected, dark brown & nearly black body. Nice half finger off white head, minimal retention, no lacing.

S- graham crackers, marshmallows, burnt malt. Some roast and dark chocolate. Pretty interesting nose actually.

F- graham crackers at the forefront, raw vanilla bean, some marshmallow character but not a ton. Bitter charred malt with some roastiness, dark chocolates. The marshmallow and graham cracker sweetness gets a nice balance with the vanilla bean and burnt/charred malt.

M- medium bodied, lower in carbonation. Slick and resinous as expected. Burnt malt finish tempered with a bit of vanilla.

O- not as vanilla forward as expected but a wonderfully balanced and nicely done stout that's heavy on the graham crackers.

Tap at Good Bottle Charlotte NC of all places. Fantastic used motor oil black pour, 2 fingers of frothy dark tan head. Retained and laced the glass nicely.

Aroma, toasted malt, quite a bit of caramel and vanilla. Some milk like chocolate.

Taste, vanilla up front along with sweeter chocolate and molasses. Nearly a lactose sugar like quality, maybe from marshmallow? There is just enough roast malt in there, with a little coffee bitterness to finish.

Pretty full body, creamy carbonation. The dryer finish helps with the sweetness and helps the drinkability, which is not bad. Just a little warmth. Would be an outstanding dessert beer.
First from these guys and it did not disappoint.

On tap at Northdown, served in a "fun size" mini-nonic glass.

"Imperial Marshmallow Stout" brewed with mini-marshmallows, cocoa nibs, graham crackers, & vanilla beans (info straight from the brewer).

Dense black body with brownish edges, dark tan foam around the edges formed arcs of lace down the glass. Initial finger of foam faded away after a couple minutes, understandable due to the double digit abv.

Aroma was intense, deep chocolate and real vanilla from the beans.

Taste was similarly intense, all of the component flavors of smores danced around a big bonfire on your palate. Dark chocolate was most intense, rich and creamy with a nice roasty malt depth to it. Vanilla marshmallow and graham cracker flavors were less intense, but lingered nicely in the aftertaste. Body was somewhat light, though it had considerable substance and texture. Overall this was a big hit, and deservedly won 1st place at the recent CBS Brewpub Shootout.
