12 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear mahogany/ruby red color with about an inch and a half light tan head. Head retention is decent, and there's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like honey, molasses, chocolate, and some nuts. The brew tastes like honey, molasses, earthiness, chocolate, nuts, and some dark bread. It's a mostly sweet tasting beer. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth, a bit syrupy and easy enough to drink. I think it's a good brew. It's the first beer I've had from Off Color Brewing, and hopefully it won't be the last.

12 oz. bottle poured into a chalice.

Appearance - Dark brown body. Small off-white head. Settles to a very thin collar.

Smell - Nutty brown malts, some chocolate. Honey. Wheat grain lends some brighter aromas.

Taste - Lots of dark caramel and nutty brown malts. Honey is strong and gives it a lighter and sweeter feel. Deep molasses-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel - I drink this very quickly. Nicely drinkable and pleasantly sweet without being cloying. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Simple and unassuming beer, but it's well made and balanced.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Ayinger Celebrator glass
A: Dark brown with a 1.5-finger head
S: Roasted malt, some burnt, a hint of cocoa and earth
T: Matches the nose. Not too much complexity
M: Medium-bodied but a bit thin
O: No flaws but I expected more given the extensive ingredient list. Only my second time trying an altbier so glad to have the chance to try another

KHad in a bottle poured into a Troegs Chalice.
A-Dark brown. Little head that dissipates quickly.
S- brown sugar, bread, hint of chocolate
T-very bland, hint of brown sugar, black berry, and banna.
MF- tingly like bottles soda on the roof of your mouth
Overall, it was okay. Wasn't impressed. It taste like it's going to be amazing in the beginning and then just falls off into blandness.

A- pours out dark brown and appears black in the glass. A very thin off white head that fizzles out and leaves a white ring around the glass.
S- very grainy, dark wheat, earthy aromas
T- similar to the nose very raw and grainy, finishes with a subtle sweetness that lingers pleasantly. Honey comes through nicely.
M- thin body with moderate carbonation. A good amount of residual sweetness for a 5 percenter that rounds the beer out.
O- I'm glad I grabbed this in my travels. It's a very tasty, easy drinking beer. Surprised by the blend of raw grain and sweetness.

Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into a large snifter. I picked this beer up recently due to the interesting label art and appealing ingredient list (honey ,oats and molassess).
the beer pours a clear mahogany color with some garnet highlights on the edges. There is a fizzy beige head of 1 cm that fades rapidly to nothing soon after the pour.
Aroma is a bit of sweet malt with some floral honey notes (clover?) and some brown sugar notes. Overall a sweet nose and no hint of hops or booze.
First sip reveals a light and crisp body with very fizzy carbonation that fills my mouth with bubbles on each sip.
Flavor is malty and sweet as the nose advertised with some caramel and brown sugar mixing together. I also get a little bit of spicyness on the finish that is possibly from the hops, this flavor lingers after each swallow, but isnt robust.
The beer is very easy to drink the honey probably plays a big role in the fizzy carbonation and lighter body. I enjoy the beer and find it an interesting recipe. Worth a shot.

Pours a deep ruby brown color where light shines through the center. Small head that dies to a fine level of rim bubbles. No lace.

Smell: Dark molasses aroma with a bit of mocha in the background

The flavor is less sweet than I expected. The hop is also much more present. There's some strong porter elements to this beer. Lowly carbonated with a fuller body. Short aftertaste but with a nice blend.

12 ounce bottle - $3.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body, with a few garnet hints at the far edges, and, a small-sized, brief beige head.

Smell: Chocolate, cola nose (and cola appearance, really) with hints of toasted dark bread, fine sugars, with background touches of herb and plump raisins.

Taste: Chocolate glazed rich dark bread toastiness, scantly nutty, with some additional caramelly sweetness, as well as hints of the added molasses and honey. Very mildly roasty. A little raisiny dark fruitiness precludes a minor herbal hint and light balancing bitterness. Slowly, softly dries out on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation, a bit tingly, prickly.

Overall: Good beer. Though a bit cost prohibitive for me at four clams per bottle, were it to be a bit more reasonable, I would readily make this a standard addition to the fridge. It's got an inviting maltiness bolstered by the molasses and honey, yet it remains reasonably dry and nimble on the tongue, thanks to the healthy carbonation.
