12oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

(A)- Pours a very dark burnt sienna color with some caramel amber highlights. Minimal tan froth.

(S)- A sweet and grainy profile overall. Definitely a touch of vanilla in there with the honey and oat characters.

(T)- A nice combo of molasses, raisin, honey, and oat. Ever so slight bark-like wood bitterness on the finish.

(M)- A mellow carbonation level to it. Sweet, yet slightly bitter. Definitely a heftier altbier in the sweet and rich categories.

(O)- It would be worth enjoying a 6pack of for sure out of its enjoyment level. Another more obscure style that I do not have alot of experience with, but from past examples, this is much sweeter and richer for the style in my eyes.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a becker pint glass

Pours a dark amber capped by a cream colored one and half finger head; nice-looking beer. Average retention, little to no lacing. Molasses, hints of maple syrup, and plenty grain on the nose. Caramel, toffee, and grainy accents upfront. Subtle notes of apple peel, pear, and honey midpalate that carry through to the finish. Hints of sweetness throughout, but very well balanced. Slick medium body with syrupy accents on the edges. A very enjoyable and very drinkable beer that I enjoyed very much and plan to revisit.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Acquired this bottle as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. My first beer from Off Color Brewing, out of Chicago. An altbier, not a style I am too familiar with, my third review of an altbier on BeerAdvocate.

Poured into a Houlihan's pint glass.

A - Pours three big fingers of good fluffy creamy tan head on top of a nice chestnut / ruby colored body with decent clarity and lots of carbonation bubbles rushing topside. Good creamy head retention, almost root beer float like in appearance. Looks pretty nice.

S - Smell is nice also. Dark grains, chocolate malt, earthy nuttiness, some cream, some dark cherry, honey, graham cracker, & raisins.

T - Taste is pretty nice also. Cream, earth, nuttiness, chocolate malt, wet grains, hint of paperboard, dark cherry, mineral water, & raisins. Honey, molasses, and oats are all distinct when you look for them. Very nicely done, all of the flavors have their own part to play in this mixture. The selected hops lend a very nice earthy character.

M - Very smooth, sweet and creamy, from the honey and the oats, with some dark fruitiness lingering around on the palate. Mostly a very clean, bready finish. Very nicely done.

Overall, I actually really enjoyed this beer, it is definitely something I would seek out again. Very nicely layered and complex, yet still approachable and drinkable. A very nice first beer from Off Color Brewing. I look forward to trying many more.

A - Dark amber with high carbonation and little head.

S - Sweet malts with hints of cola.

T - Great mix of malts, chocolate, and hints of raisin.

M - Light and crisp. Good amount of carbonation racing across the roof of my mouth.

O - Great beer for fall. Easy to drink with low ABV. Too sweet to be sessionable, but one goes down great.
