A-The TapHouse sits at street level on a small, dead-end alley near the tourist district in Brussels. It is located next to the Delirium Cafe. The inside of the place feels a bit like a college jock bar, with loud music, a big bar, and paraphernalia on the wall. Fortunately, there are tables outside, where we posted up to enjoy a brew on the nice Sunday afternoon. Although inside was empty, the outside tables were packed with tourists.

Q-The TapHouse, as you might expect, has a fair number of good Belgian beers on tap. I had a Guillotine and the wife had a Tremens, and both were poured with skill from what appeared to properly maintained lines.

Ser-There is no wait service at the tables outside, so I meandered into the bar. The service was not terrible, but it was not friendly, either, and I felt a bit like the bartender was annoyed to be there. On the plus side, he poured my beers correctly.

Sel-If you are looking for big spread of draft beer, which is a bit difficult to come by in Belgium, the selection here is pretty strong...one slot below Moeder Lambic Fontainas. The choices included all of the Delirium line (duh), but a few quality guest beers, too. I did not see any bottles here, so if that is what you are after, head next door to the Cafe.

V-The pours here cost more than the countryside, but they were slightly less than pours at Moeder. In other words, prices were reasonable for the city.

let me explain how something can turn into the worst bierexperience yet ...
me and a friend went drinking here . just like i did every month-or-so .
we asked for a glass of tap beer each , but got in trouble , since we didnt look 18 . i told here legal drinking age in belgium is 16 , not 18 .
she replied she knew it better cause she worked in a bar
i work in a bar myself, which caused the reaction 'than you dont know your job '..
she asked for my ID , guess what ? turns out i'm 21 .
than she started pickin on my buddy , who's 17 ( still, legal drinking age )
i had to drink his beer ( 7.5 abv ) , and he had to drink mine ( 5 abv )
we switched it back . we order something diffrent cause we have a difftent taste, maybe ?

than she threw away his glass ( we already paid for ) and replaced it with a 5 cl pour of 'floris white ' ( lower ABV but very crappy and cheap shit ) i threw it away right in front of her and asked my payed beer back . we were forced to leave the bar . no money refund, no beer ( now all glasses were taken ) and even a very childish 'NA NA NANANA you have no beer hahaha 'from the waitresses .... thats just sad ...

how can i give this ANY point ? what the hell do 2000 beers mean, if you can only drink what that b**** decides ? how can i give it good value, if i pay for soemthing they than imidiatly take away, without doing anything wrong ?

and o yeah . not less than 4 cops told me i was right about the 16 = beer , ABV does not matter . so i mailed them . and guess what ? they replied !

' Please understand that it was just a mistake, sorry about RUINING your day. We'll talk to them. You should probably let go now and consider that these things can happen. '

Not to be confused with the Delirium Cafe, the Delirum TapHouse is a seperate establishment which sits at street level (the Delirium Cafe is located below streeet level, while the Delirium Hoppy Loft is upstairs). As its name would suggest, the Tap House pours 27 different beers from tap, some beers I've heard before (Delirium of course!, Monk's Stout, Floris, Kasteel) and some I haven't (Ter Dolen, Rulles). The tap list is written in chalk above the bar with corresponding prices (all pours under €4). Overwhelmed at the time, I decided because I was at the Delirium TapHouse to get a Delrium Tremens. They have several pieces of unbranded glassware for the beers, but I still thought it was ironic that my Delirium was poured into an unbranded glass despite being many Delirium branded glasses. Despite that one loose end, there were many servers at the bar who were ready to take drink orders.

The interior of the TapHouse is very large and spreads into another room, as well as having tables on the street. It was less crowded as the Delirium Cafe at the same time, so if you can't bulge your way downstairs, chill out at the TapHouse.
