Pours nearly jet black except for some ruby thru the body when held up to the light,a thinner but well retained beige head atop.Big roasted coffee aromas along with bitter chocolate and mild earth. The coffee is pronounced on the palate but the chocolate and brown sugar and dark fruit flavors hold up to it pretty well.A beer that is coffee forward but has nice" other" flavors.

Draft at Duckworths Balantyne. Dark cola pour, thin layer of off white head. Laced the glass just a bit.

Aroma, a hefty dark roast coffee. Some dark chocolate and cocoa.

Taste, coffee is strong up front. Minimal latte presence. Just accenting my and chocolate presence. Cocoa and coffee bean finish it.

Mid body, good carbonation level. Drinks just fine. Weakness is that it is nearly a carbonated coffee beverage, I just couldn't find the milk stout behind it.

A: pours black with a finger of tan head that fades into a frothy ring with a little lacing

S: tons of robust coffee on the nose bitter chocolate and roasted malts, but mostly coffee.

T: dark roasted, robust coffee dominates here as well. Roasted malts, char, and cacao also come through before a lightly bitter finish.

M: medium body and carbonation on the lower side of moderate, this beer feels like a bigger beer than it is.

O: a coffee-lover's dream, this beer tastes and feels a lot bigger than its 5.3% (a characteristic that I like since most low abv stouts end up being watery and bland to me). Not complex, but delicious and thoroughly enjoyable.

Nearly black in color with not much head to speak of. Super fresh roasted coffee bean aroma, like sticking your face into a newly opened bag of beans. Sweetened coffee, some roasted malt, maybe a little vanilla. This is ALL about the java though...you absolutely must love coffee to enjoy this beer, it is not subtle. To be honest, I couldn't tell you anything about the quality of the base beer because of this, but I really don't care. I love when a brewer successfully harnesses the fresh bean aromatics. Medium bodied with a slight bitterness. Straightforward, but nicely done.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a 99% opaque black color with a 1/8 inch tan head that doesn't retain long before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and light wispy surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind.

S- Rich, sweet coffee and milk chocolate at the forefront. Undertones of vanilla and caramel.

T- More toasty in the flavor with the coffee becoming more espresso-like and the milk chocolate turning to dark chocolate. Sweet caramel aftertaste which counterbalances the lingering bitterness from the coffee.

M- The lactose provides a nice creaminess but the body is still somehow thin in a way. Carbonation's a bit too low as well but these detriments are easily overlooked.

O- A great example of a coffee beer. I'll have to look out for more of this brewery's offerings in the future.

Pours black but when held to the light you can see deep ruby/brown though out the whole goblet. Head is brown and small even with an aggressive pour that falls fast to a ring no real lace left behind.

Aroma is nice I like the big coffee notes on my sweet milk stout. Coffee defiantly dominate but you can smell the sweet lactose mingled through out underneath, even light smokiness.

Taste is coffee with light roasty notes, good lactose sweetness, some light anise notes. Some smoky notes maybe a hint of dark fruit.

Mouthfeel is big medium seems fuller then the 5.3% would indicate. Carbonation is lower side of medium.

Overall this is a good milk stout with a big coffee kick, makes for a god brew in m opinion.

A: Pours a clear opaque jet black in color with a light to moderate amount of gentle visible carbonation at the surface of the beer and some cola brown + garnet red highlights. The beer has an eighth finger fizzy light tan head that quickly reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of freshly roasted coffee beans over the top of sweet roasted malts and milk chocolate.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted and slightly charred malts with moderate to strong flavors of freshly roasted coffee. That is followed by moderate amounts of lactose sweetness and a light amount of milk chocolate. Light to moderate amounts of bitterness which lingers for a short amount of time.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin.

O: I really enjoyed this one but the flavors/aromas of coffee are very strong... The aroma of this beer reminds me of opening a brand new bag of coffee beans.
