Your standard brown ale. Not bad but nothing special.

A good, solid brown beer, nothing special, but well done for the type.

Draft at Hi-wire. Dark tea brown pour, half finger of cream colored head. Laces just a bit.

Aroma, some brown sugar, toasted malt. Hazelnut.

Taste, some malty tobacco and brown sugar again. Some tea and herbal notes. Seemed a little sweet a first but seems more balanced after it warmed a bit. Lingers nicely.

Drinks very easily, carbonation and body are about right.
Good stuff, hopefully this place will last a bit longer than Craggie.

Didn't care for the after taste at first, but the more I drank it wasn't as noticeable. An ok beer, but would not be my first choice.

A: Pours an opaque yet clear very dark brown in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass along the sides and some garnet red + cola brown highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall sudsy foamy dark beige head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of lightly toasted caramel malts along with some slightly lighter nutty malts and just a touch of brown sugar sweetness.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of toasted caramel malts with some light nutty malt flavor and light amounts of brown sugar/molasses sweetness. Light amounts of earthy and herbal hops towards the finish but they contribute minimal amounts of bitterness which fade almost immediately.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.Relatively smooth.

O: Fairly well balanced, especially after coming up to temperature. Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a muddled brown color, with an off-white, clingy head. Nose of roasted nut sweetness, chocolate notes, and a solid roasted characteristic. Flavors are heavily roasted nut and caramel sweetness. Smooth and light bodied, with a cloying nut sweetness in the aftertaste. The finish is slick and smooth, with a lingering sweetness continuing through.

Pours a clear, brown color. 3/2 inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, hint of alcohol, slight yeast, and slight chocolate. Fits the style of an English Brown Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, hint of hop, slight chocolate, hint of alcohol, and slight yeast. Overall, strong body, mostly malt, but otherwise pretty good.

12 ounce bottle -> New Belgium globe

A - mahogany brown with an unrelenting head of foam that caught me by surprise spilling liberally over the edge of the glass. Not surprisingly, retention and lacing are good.

S - molasses and some coffee

T - molasses, caramel, toffee, cola, chocolate, and coffee. Mild flavor profile.

M - a bit thin with average carbonation.

O - This is a brown ale. Easy to drink. Hard to love, impossible to hate. That about sums it up.

Light body, lower carbonation brown. Almost a citrusy taste to go along with a modest malty sweetness. Not quite as clean a finish as I hoped once I began drinking it. Drinkable.

Pours a very dark brown with a small white head.

The smell is sweet malts.

Taste is sweet and malty with some earthy bitter hops in the finish.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with sharp carbonation.

Overall a very good brown ale. Fairly sweet for the style but enjoyable.

Not bad, but not great either. Worth trying if you like a brown ale. The finish was not as smooth as I like. Would definitely drink it again though.

I don't like being forced to write a review in order to give a beer a numerical rating. This will cause me to stop rating beers at all.

12 oz bottle poured into a Cape May beer cap pint glass

L: Light to Medium brown color. Nice head but zero retention.

S: Sweet malt, caramel and bready biscuit. The aroma isn't overpowering but is pleasant.

T: The taste doesn't hold up to the aroma. The taste is muted more so than the smell. But I get the sweet malt taste followed by a good bitter taste.

F: Good medium mouthfeel and good carbonation

On tap:
Pours a clear mid-brown with nice carbonation, off white, that laces the glass as I drink. Nose isn't strong at the bar, but I do notice toffee, a bunch of toasted grain and nut, and an unexpected tart note that I can't place.

Taste starts out a bit more fruit-bitter (similar to the tartness I the nose). Caramel and toasted bread notes follow, but are quickly backed by an ESB bittering agent (assuming UK hops). The feel is a bit more carbonated than I'd like, and maybe just a tad thin in body.

My initial thoughts were that this beer was pretty good. The strange fruit/orange/?? tartness poked at me a bit, though, that I leveled out my review.
