Cask conditioned version of the punjabi. Seems to be a crossover between an IPA and a hefeweizen. Poured amber brown with an decent head and okay lacing. Very clear

Smell and taste both showed strong piney hops but definately hidden slightly by the belgian yeast or hefeweizen taste and smell that must have come from the cask.

This gave a unique taste that was wonderful for one beer but the mixed taste meant this was a one beer only beer.

The Cask-Conditioned Punjabi poured a cloudy, copper-orange with a thick, creamy, white head that had excellent retention (lasted the whole way) and some lacing. It had a strong citrus aroma with some subtle hops. The flavor was well-balanced. It had an initial taste of toffee and some citrus, with a bitter finish. It was very thick and creamy and had an excellent mouthfeel. Overall, the cask version is an excellent brew. It is a great session brew (the high alcohol content suprised me), and is my old reliable when ordering at Coppersmiths.

A - Clear dark-orange brew with a solid finger of white head. This one leaves an abundance of really nice and sticky lace on the glass. When I was finished it looked like some one put up fake Halloween spider webs in my glass.

S - Big time grapefruit, pine sap, and citrus rind.

T - The grapefruit really takes center stage here. Some firm malts support the star of the show, and some other citrus fruits sing backup vocals, but the grapefruit really asserts itself more than any other IPA/pale ale that I can think of.

M - Hop oils coat my mouth, and the finish is extremely dry and grassy. Astringent alcohol compliments the super-biter hops.

D - Considering the ABV and hop-o-rama flavor, I think that this is definitely an IPA, not a mere pale ale. This is a damn fine brew, and a hop-lover's wet dream.

Hazy bronze hue with a thin, but tight head that manages decent lace. Aroma of pearish fruity esters with a slightly detracting note of green apple acetaldehyde. Clean light caramel sweetness is perceived simulataneously with a floral and mildly citric hop nose. Flavor is dominated by biscuit laced sweetness. Subdued citrusy hops tinged by grapefruit. Trace diacetyl. Mellow all around. Green apple undertone surfaces as the beer breathes. Mild hop bitterness leaves balanced skewed towards malt sweetness. Passably dextrinous in mouthfeel, almost creamy. Finishes honeyish, bready and lightly bitter. Very much ESB like. A session pale. More hop character would have been lent better balance.

APA typical appearance. Standard dose of froth, with little lacing.
The cask-conditioned is advertised at 7.5%ABV. The nose portrays the addition of aromatic hops to the cask. Clean malt with a twist of citus peel, and a sprig of pine.
I taste leather and hemp twine. Hop vines twisted into a rope. Thinnish mouthfeel from the natural carbonation. Starts and finishes with this hop tendril loaded with flowers. Mellow malt colors the palate with a white wash, a smattering of sweetnes; lite caramel, and brittle, and butterscotch. Balanced and good.

Poured a clear copper with a thick white head that stuck around and left big rings of lace.

The aroma was of pine, grapefuit and toasted malts. simple but balanced.

Dominant grapefruit and citrus rind with resiny pine on the back of a toasted biscuit and touches of caramel.

Simple, medium bodied, crisp, and refreshing.

Overall a nicely balanced and easy drinking beer.

It arrived still cascading from the pour and finally settled into a thick, ecru head to match my new work shirt. The color was an extremely deep amber with NE-quality clarity, which was unusual for a cask. Mentor asked me what style it was (American or English) and I replied that it was definitely American. There were lots of citrusy hops on the nose. The mouthfeel was medium and the hops were soft and muted on the tongue. The finish had a good hop presence, but not a biting one.

A pint hand-drawn from the cask at the brewpub, September 29, 2006, accompanied by fellow B-A bitterbill. Listed on the menu at 6.5% on this day.

Lovely pint, brought to the table with the reverse-cascading head still, uh, reverse-cascading. Thick, heavy, creamy white head like whipped cream over a cloudy amber body. Impressive looking.

Smell was grapefruit and pine over a solid caramel malt foundation.

Taste was more of the same, although the maltiness was wonderfully-well pronounced. Great depth and complexity. Really excellent.

Mouthfeel was thick and chewy, round and full, with soft carbonation throughout.

Easy-drinking beer, perhaps a wee bit too strong to be sessionable, but I would have loved to linger over a couple more.

This is a must for anybody in the Fort Collins area! Stop in and enjoy some!

A - PRETTY DESCENT AMBER COLORING. DESCENT HEAD.

S - ALMOST SMELLS LIKE A DISHWASHING DETERGENT AND BROWN SUGAR.

T - VERY NICE TASTING MIDDLE, DEFINATELY NOT A STRONG STARTER AND FOR SURE NOT A CLEAN FINISH.

M - DISTINCT TASTE OF CASCADE HOPS.

D - REFRESHING, MAKES YOUR MOUTH FEEL LIKE IT HAS BEEN WASHED OUT WITH SOAP.
