With its roasted, chocolatey malt profile and rich, nutty flavor, this award winning stout tastes as decadent and delicious as a peanut butter cup candy.

750 ml crowler into globe glass, canned on 11/11/2015. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent peanut butter sweet stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Junkyard Peanut Butter Bandit. 5% ABV, 20 IBU. Junkyard Brewing, Moorhead, MN.
Rich brown color, nearly black, toasted tan head, large and looming, slowly drifting.
In the nose: Incredible aromatics, peanut butter flavor wafts out and floods the atmosphere. Take it in for a closer sniff: sweet, creamy, rich, nutty, incredible. Insane. Whoa. Chocolate and other stout characteristics lurk beneath, but the peanut butter is all over it.
In the mouth: Thick and rich, lush and wonderfully rewarding. Again, there's a stout here, but the peanut butter component commands over all. Hop bitterness keeps a lid on the sweet, it's there but just to tamp down the malt and the peanut butter of it all. Some of the coffee and the cocoa of a stout creep up in to the flavor and are greatly appreciated on the palate, but there's never a moment where PB is not king in this. (Brings to mind, of course, Junkyard's other PB beer, which I've tasted once, and need to secure a crowler of ....that's the next hunt.)
I had this on my first visit to the brewery last summer, and was impressed then. Great to finally get my hands, and my lips around a full crowler (since I wasn't able to buy any then). So nice.
In time, sweetness is tempered, and the bitterness reigns over the malt, which is how it ought to be. I will not rank this against other PB beers, claim one as champion, crown a king. But I will pose a question: when you ask which is the most "peanut-butter-y", do you really want that? Do you want the most "peanut butter" in your beer? And if so, why? Do you want beer, or peanut butter? Are you an adult who drinks beer, or a child who eats peanut butter?

Pours a deep dark brown with a slight reddish tint, large dark tan foamy head that lingers and forms generous lacing. Aroma is peanut butter and dark roasted malt. Flavor is very peanut butter heavy, slight chocolate and roasted malts. Feel is a tad thin, but this is a 6% milk stout. Overall a fun beer that I'm glad I shared the crowler with two others.

Poured from crowler can into glass. Fill date stamped on can is ''6/04/18'.
Body color is very dark brown, with brown highlights against the light. One finger tan, frothy head settles down to a bubbly cap. Leaves behind just a few spots of lacing.
Aroma of burnt dark malts and dark chocolate. Strong with a nutty aroma similar to roasted peanuts.
Taste is sweeter than the aroma but still exhibits the malt char. Includes the chocolate and peanut flavors. Some earthy hops in the background.
Mouth feel is thin to medium with a touch of an oily nature.
A stout with a strong taste of dark chocolate and peanut butter. More acrid than sweet.

Pours a thick chocolate brown. Love the artwork on this crowler. Gives of the aroma of peanuts and dark chocolate. Tastes of peanut butter and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied and feels behind the taste of Reece’s wrapper.
= Definitely a unique mix. Think of this as a Reece’s peanut butter cup dropped into a stout. If anything another cheers for the label.

L: brilliant dark brown with ruby highlights under a lacy light tan cap with a very fine bead and good retention
S: peanut butter aroma is real strong and fresh giving the beer a peanut butter and dark chocolate candy smell
T: peanuts lead up front on the flavors but the rich dark chocolate flavors move forward as you drink it
F: Creamy full bodied beer with medium carbonation and mild alcohol warming
O: dark chocolate peanut butter candy candy in a glass with enough hop bitterness, alcohol and carbonation to keep it from being cloying

This beer pours quite dark brown color. The head is 2 finger, frothy, and brown. Retention is good, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is rich with peanut butter, and chocolate. Both really well represented.
Taste - up front is a bit mellow, then, on the backside, the peanut butter/chocolate mix hits, and hits hard. There's also a slight hop presence on the backside.
Smooth feeling. Decent body.
Damn good beer from Junkyard. I can see what all the hype is now that I've had one of their beers.

From a week-old crowler into a cervoise glass. More roasted peanut than butter, and a just a little smoke, too...I don't get much in the way of chocolate, though maybe a little bitter stuff. The sweetness is a little underdeveloped, but comes out in the middle. The body is a little non-descript...at some points, it seems watery and thin but then the next sip, a little better. There isn't much development, and it doesn't come to a point...it's just kind of there. Worth a shot, but it was only okay for me.

A ok beer, Plenty of peanut butter and chocolate. The negative I have with it is the finish. It just doesn't finish all that well. It seemed dull and off a little. But if you are into peanut butter cups give it a try.
