A definitive Colorado IPA. Golden in color with a harmony of citrusy, grassy, fruity hop character and pleasant bitterness. Organic English & German malts provide a delicate sweetness and medium body.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a caramel color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is herbal, a bit of pine. Taste is, well, flavors just not meshing well together. There is malts, herbal notes, some mint, very little bitterness for the style. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

12 oz can into a std pint glass. Decent half inch head with minimal retention. Minimal lacing. Mostly clear medium gold color. Though it promises hops, the aroma is more bready. Not bad but not hop forward. Taste follows the nose with some nice earthy hop notes balancing the malt. Fairly soft on the palate with the alcohol well-hidden. Overall, a nice beer but nothing exceptional

12 oz can. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - biscuit malt with some sweet fruity floral bubblegum hops.

The flavor is sweet biscuity crystal malt with some fruit and resiny grassy tarry hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, it's an odd mix of sweet malt and some harsh hop notes that I'm not caring for.

Brief initial impressions from a can:

A: Mediocre. Your standard copper body and 2 inch white head. Clean looking enough.

Sm: Mild pine, mild resins, odd tropically-emphatic fruit (including some unfortunate boozy pineapple), pale malts...there's nothing remarkable about. Seems like a standard middle-of-the-road IPA profile. Aromatic intensity is average.

T: Follows the aroma, with unforeseen imbalance; the pale malt sweetness is inadequate, failing to compensate sufficiently for the hop bitterness. Hop profile is mundane, but it does offer a bit of unexepcted subte spiciness.

Mf: Smooth, wet, overcarbonated, crisp, slightly oily, medium-bodied.

Not gushed, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy on the palate.

O: Drinkable albeit subpar. Another generic IPA enters the Colorado market.

Very resiny, piney aroma from the can. Floral, herbal notes are secondary.

Flavor is pilsner malt laden, with resiny bitter notes throughout, and a fairly dry finish. More grassy than I'd prefer.

Very smooth, rich, somewhat sweet taste, gentle smell of hops. Great beer to have at the end of the day. Better warm then cold - you can taste more of a bouquet that way. There are better beers, but this one is definitely very enjoyable.

ive liked most of the other beers ive had from these guys better than this ipa, which they now can. its got a strange grain complexion, not strange necessarily, but out of place for an american ipa. i get a lot of english malt character to it, and not that its heavy, but its grainy for sure, even without being sweet. i taste the husky grains themselves, the way they taste pre-mash, sort of dusty and starchy. the hops dont seem to be quite prominent enough to stand above the more flavor grain base, so it ends up being only a so-so example of an american ipa. i like that it is more flavorful on the grain side, but these might not be the right ones, or at the very least we need quite a bit more hops in it. i see what they were going for here, and in some ways it was a worthy attempt. the carbonation is great and its dry for all the grain flavor, but for me it came up a little short of expectations.

A Boulder native brewery, this can features a cute owl as it’s mascot and simple white can design with black borders and blue fill. It also has a nifty feature on the side of the can with bar graphs noting the color, body, malt, and hop levels in it.

A: Pours vibrant orange with a white and frothy two finger head. Can’t see through it but light goes through, no visible carbonation.
S: Grassy sticks out the most with slight orange blossom honey, smells like a great pale ale.

T: Great taste of malt and hop balance with slight hop tang, bright citrus and honey jump out while not overwhelming – this is a great beer. Tangerine comes in slightly with slight lime taste wiggling in too.

M: Light and crisp while maintaining slight fluff to keep it from being dry, there’s a slight bitterness that is sharp, but it also keeps it interesting.

O: Awesome beer, very drinkable and inviting. It would be great for an outing or with fatty meat meal like a burger or pizza; it has enough bitterness and flavor to cut fat while refreshing while not taking over taste wise. I’m extremely happy to be drinking this, is it the best beer ever? No. It’s simply one of the most enjoyable IPA’s I’ve ever had, similar to New England Brewing Co’s Sea Hag. This would be my go to IPA if possible.

Malty, Grainy, Dank, Fruity

Golden, with respectful white lacing. Malty, cereal grains in the nose (think Grape-Nuts) and some dankness. Very smooth, creamy and slightly chewy. Malt, caramel, and a candy-like sweetness up front with a husky tannic linger. As for the hops, I'm getting some overripe pineapple, slight dankness, and a flash of bitterness. Things get a bit fruity and juicy with berry-like esters as the beer warms up. Overall a good beer, but more on the malty side when poured into a glass. From the can, and a bit warmed up, the hop profile is much more pronounced.
