Pored from a 22oz into a pint glass.

A: Nice frothy head which was retained during drinking. Light copper colour.

S: nice pine scent with citrus (grapefruit).

T: Pine and grassy hops with some citrus and maybe a little mango. Some immediate bitterness, but not a huge bite.

F: light, smooth and crisp. Decent carbonation.

O: A pretty good IPA in the NW tradition. Couldn't find a date on the bottle, but I trust the shop I got it from.

Saw this on the shelf of the local liquor store tonight - they apparently just got this in. I was going to go for something reliable, as it's been a long week, but I figured why not give a new brewery a try.

From a 22 into a quintessential Duvel tulip:

Dark golden, SRM 10-15 range. Sandy, white-tan head that falls to about half an inch.

They mention 4 different C-hops (has to be 4 out of these 5 - Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Chinook, Citra) on the label and it shows. Immediately citrusy - lemon and lime zest, a little grapefruit, oranges - but also fragrant and floral. Faintly piney. Slight biscuit-malt scent. Not an overly strong nose like some of the recent IPAs I've had.

As expected, citrus: orange, grapefruit, pinch of lime on the finish. Very neutral malt profile. The taste is very standard for an IPA using those 4 C-hops. No perceptible off flavors.

A little on the thin side, but also somewhat creamy. Medium body. It's very pleasant and matches the aroma and smell very well. I think it may benefit from a little more carbonation, however.

Great stuff from a brewery I've never heard of. I don't think this is a groundbreaking IPA, but it's very good for the style and a beer I wouldn't hesitate to buy again if I were in the mood for something in between an IPA and DIPA.

22 oz bottle from "Lifesource" Salem OR
Cloudy burnt orange coloured body with a large rocky cream coloured head.
Mostly honeyish malt aromas, a bit of resiny hops.
Very balanced for a IPA..malts are strong caramel and semi sweet hops light resin.
Nice mouth feel..creamy smooth OK.
An OK beer but too balanced..i feel this might be old.

On tap at the Bier Stein today. There are some nice aromatics from the mosaic hops in this beer, but otherwise, this is a fairly simple, straight forward IPA, that actually drinks more like a hoppy, dry pale ale. It's decent, but there are a lot of better, more interesting options brewed here in the NW. Hard to imagine ever wanting to order this again.

Slightly hazy amber brew with a big foamy head in the St. Bernardus globe. Watery and refreshing body. Big dark hop taste.

Very leafy and aromatic. Herbal but clean flavored. Moderate bitterness. Sweet malt and fruity hops. Then a piney hop finish.

A hop stew, but a pleasant quaff with a mix of hop flavors swirling in the mouth. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Liticker's Liquors in Ocean Beach.

22oz poured to tulip

Appearance is a very cloudy dark gold, good 1.5 fingers of pale gold foam. Head dies off quickly

Aroma is a hop heads dream with lots of pine, fresh mowed clover, grapefruit and little bit of biscuit. A nice floral blush

Flavor is more dominated by the grassy and significant bitterness, grapefruit and more grass in the backend. Muddy yeast note. Distinctively unsophisticated and raw.

Mouthfeel is fine for an IPA, good body and carbonation

Overall this beer is very memorable for the aromatics, but the flavor is frankly a bit forgettable beyond the bitterness. Inappropriately cloudy for the style, and that dark cloud carries over to the flavor. Nothing really "off-putting" I can put my finger on, just seems as one dimensional as the name implies.

Nice crisp hoppy taste with subtle malts. But the more I drink, the more I taste the malts then my palette gets use to it. But overall, it's good. It's like a maltier ruination ipa
