A Robust Porter. It has a strong, upfront coffee aroma, with a dark cocoa finish. Brewed with Oregon hops to balance the bittersweet, chocolatey malt.

Quite handsome very dark red brew with long-lasting foam in the tall IPA glass. Body is on the watery side but with enthusiastic sudsiness. Dark malt and a distinct burnt edge. It's not totally dry but only a little malty sweetness. More grainy than malty and even a little raw.
Dark and bitter flavor but light in body. Better than the Irish stouts, in my opinion, but it's in that style of thin and frothy. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

22 oz bottle retrieved from Oregon.
Pours clear but very dark brown, looking nearly black and opaque in the pint glass. A decent size beige head is semi-durable and leaves sheets of lacing upon tilting of the glass.
Loads of very dark roasted grain flavor with some unsweetened chocolate, relatively light notes of burnt toast and only faint char. Enough hops to add flavor and complexity while keeping this markedly more bitter than sweet.
O: a bold, hoppy porter.

Nice deep brown color, pale tan head, lace not super fine.
Smell is nice, malty, classic, not overly heavy, not overly mild.
Taste is decent, malty, bitter, not very intense. I prefer more depth in a porter, but there are no off notes here.
Mouthfeel moderately rich, again wouldn't mind richer. Bubbles a little big for my taste. No big flaws though.
Finish is consistent with the rest. Not super intense. Some good length, if subtle, with dark black licorice notes.
Decent beer. Wouldn't seek it out, but wouldn't mind it with a burger some day.

Nice dark, roasty, chocolaty, smooth porter. Dark, opaque brown with small beige creamy head. Aroma is equal parts coffee, chocolate and burnt toast. Taste is mild coffee bitterness up front, then some semi-sweet chocolate. Dry bitter finish.
