Notes from 7/2012
Pours a clear iced-tea color with a very creamy head that absolutely covers the glass in lacing. Has a nice balance of malt and hops. Initially, it seems very malty, but the hops really come on strong midway through and last through the finish. A lot of citrus, but some pine on the finish. Some slight caramel and biscuit malt. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Pretty nice over all, but a bit too much malt for me.

Served on tap in a shaker pint glass
A - Copper clear amber with a 2 finger white head white great retention and moderate bubbly lacing.
S - grassy, pine, citrus, a touch of herbal hops
T - Pretty nice variety of hops notes, predominately citrus, with grapefruit, orange rind, a touch of grass and moderately bitter finish.
M - medium body, moderate carbonation. chewy, wet.
O - Pretty decent IPA, but nothing particularly stellar and fairly vanilla and seemingly boring compared to Buddha fairly unique style. Drinkable, but many better ipas out there.

Poured from tap at Funky Buddha into a Cigar City Snifter.
Color: A murky brownish-orange with an off white head.
Smell: Piney hops and grapefruit up front. Followed by mango and oranges.
Taste: Same as the aroma.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation and smppth with a light dryness on the palate.
Overall: There is a very nice sweetness in the middle. Well balanced with a medium body. A classic IPA nothing too crazy. Cheers.

Sampled in a flight at the new brewery and later from a growler, from notes.
Burnt orange in color with off white head, good lacing. Somewhat cloudy, although no sediment, but certainly not clear.
Aroma is mostly pine and grapefruit. Clean, with no esters. Citrus, pine needles, mild caramel sweetness, hop resin.
Palate is the same; mostly grapefruit, pine, pineapple. Clean malt body, slight caramel sweetness to balance the hops. Bitterness comes upfront, and is restrained in the finish.
Dry enough to drink easily, good quenching feel. Carbonation is fine. Medium-light body, good warm weather drinker. Cures the craving for hops, and goes down really easy.
Overall, I remember drinking this beer ~2 years ago at the Boca Raton location and not being impressed. They have really tinkered this recipe over time and come up with a winner. Has a uniqueness to it, while still being "to style" enough to drink plenty of.

Big thanks to mikesgroove for dropping bombs on my palate during Hobo Cookout #1 and sharing this with me! Tape labeled bottle! Served from bottle into a Stone nonic. Poured red-orange with suspended off-white yeasties everywhere with a two finger slightly off-white head that subsided to one finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, metallic, and slight Pepto Bismol. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, salt, metallic, peat, slight citrus hops, and just a hint of Pepto. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall I wasn't really sure how I felt about this one... One part of me liked, the other part of me not so much. The Pepto flavor was a little off-putting for me, but not overly. Too bad I didn't have an upset stomach... Definitly worth trying for yourself to see what you think of it if you can get it.

Much better beer than some of the ratings. Not nearly as hoppy as a hop head might hope but nonetheless a nice beer. Cloudy, unpasteurized body with a nice frothy head. Mild fruit on the nose. Hop presence but not overwhelming- all a matter of taste. Give it a shot.
