32oz swingtop growler filled 5 days ago. Poured into a CBS oversized snifter.
A - Pours near black in color showing just the faintest hint of brown on the edges. Two fingers of densely foamed dark tan head shows good staying power and an almost whipped creamy consistency. Foamy webs of lacing coat the sides of the glass almost entirely.
S - From clear across the room you can clearly smell this beer...there is nothing subtle about it. Great thing is this smells absolutely heavenly. Rich coffee that relaxes into an amazing mocha with chocolately sweetness blended really well. Maple is intense, but not at all overpowering - blends seamlessly. Not really picking up any smoky or bacony aromas, but it hardly matters. Funky Buddha succeeds again in creating a beer that has such an intense, almost excessive aroma - I really don't know how they this much aromatic goodness into their beers. Smells like the perfect breakfast coffee drink.
T - Black coffee up front, slightly acidic and roasty. Sweet maple and Hershey's syrup like chocolate smooth the intense coffee and give this an overall sweet impression. Although sweet, it seems in perfect balance - again, like a perfectly sweetened coffee drink. The maple lingers through to the finish and wafts up into the nose and gives a lasting maple impression. Mild cocoa impression that is reminiscient of a dusting of cocoa powder on top of a cappuccino. The bacon aspects are lost on me as I really get no bacony, smokiness at all...and I am looking for it heavily. There is no trace of alcohol at all.
M - A bit thinner than medium bodied with a lowish medium level carbonation that is fluffy and foamy in the mouth. Acidic black coffee character with a complexity of sweet flavors that complement so well.
O - This is a super tasty treat...another winner from Funky Buddha in my book. Amazing aroma and a flavor that is intense and full of complexity and nuances. Best utilization of maple in a beer that I can remember having. This is truly outstanding. Funky Buddha hasn't let me down let. Wish I had a way of getting more their beers easily.

Unbelievably delicious Funky Buddha magic.
Pours a nice dark beer. Forms a little bit of foam, which does not retain. Smell is of coffee, with a very distinct maple scent. Taste reveals a syrupy coffee that tastes like maple and closes with the smokiness of the bacon. It is a tad sweet, not heady at all.
Over time, some of the great characters of this beer disappear. Much better fresh.

32oz. Growler drank the day it arrived thanks to Jay.
Pours a transparent chestnut brown with a toffee colored decent sized head. Above average retention and lacing. A nice looking beer.
Aroma is pretty dominant coffee with also a healthy dose of maple syrup. Its actually weird, one sniff will be all coffee the next sniff is all maple. Eventually as it warmed just the faintest bacon smoke comes through. My only real complaint is the coffee aroma is somewhat stale but not enough to make it terrible.
The coffee dominates the taste more than the aroma. Its still a bit stale and last from beginning to end. The maple flavor comes towards the end and lends a nice perceived sweetness and balances out the coffee bitterness.
Mouthfeel and carbonation is great, even for a semi leaky growler. Pretty velverty smooth and medium thick mouthfeel without lasting a bitterness.
Overall a really great beer with more maple flavor than I've ever had in a beer.
