Poured 330ml bottle into a pils glass with best before end on back label.

A:
The pour produce clear golden straw color, dense and thick velvety white head with good retention and left with lacing patches along its downwards way, high carbonation.

S:
The smell is sweet barley malt with subdued floral hop spiciness.

T:
Trademark taste of German's lager which is husk and malt flavors, hop also lends a touch of modest bitterness to support.

M:
The body is medium, sharp and fizzy mouthfeel, clean finish.

O:
It is one of the decent lagers from Germany, easy to drink but a bit boring to have several in role.

2013 Vintage. Poured from a bottle into mug, the beer is jet black, and pours heavy, with no head and only the slightest dark brown ring of film around the surface. It literally poured like motor oil, and it looks delicious. Aromas of wood and earth, with a backbone of rich chocolate and touches of smoke, highlighted by booze. Flavors are robust, with a smoky, woody forward flavor followed quickly by dark, bitter baker's chocolate and rich, full, roasted coffee. Wow, this one is layered, and it is unbelievably smooth. Smoke and roast fills the senses, as well as the palate, throughout each drink. Creamy vanilla highlights, with a warming sensation from the heightened ABV. This is tremendous. Smooth, full, and creamy in mouth, with an almost velvet feel. Roast and coffee on the aftertaste, with hints of booze. Dry, roasted finish, with a smoked and woody linger. This is a fantastic brew, and I can only imagine it would age very, very well.

Bright golden color with a thick two finger head with medium retention and leaving laces.
Pleasant sweet aroma of malt, floral hops, vanilla and herbs.
Flavor is more intense than expected. Strong malt base followed by a bitter hop taste.
Dry and bitter aftertaste, and some sort of detergent like note that did not come right.
Light to medium body with low carbonation.
Not spicy and refreshing as Helles usually are. It would not be my beer of choice.

Another Helles for the taking! Munchen Helles Lagers are a personal favourite way to escape the summer heat. Nice, cold, malty, bread-like and dry - what more could you want in the shade of a patio waiting for sizzling meat to cook on a BBQ? All that's left is a bikini-clad maiden by my side and I'm set. Fürstenberg in particular is one that screams out cheap macro at $10 a six-pack, hopefully it has more to offer.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Stein.

A: With a hard pour presents a large 1 inch soap-bubble foamy white head that dissipates down to about a quarter of an inch. The body is clear straw coloured, borders on pale-straw.

S: Bread yeast characters with vegetable odours hit the nose strong, with a note of cut grass and light malt grain base. The only thing that differentiates from other Helles Lagers is a hint of dextrose in the aroma, however it isn't actually brewed with dextrose; Reinheitsgebot wouldn't allow it.

T: Gladly the vegetable and any possible adjuncts aren't noticeable in the flavour. A very mild-mannered Helles in many respects taste is; upfront dextrose sweetness, followed by mellow (for a German brew) bread yeast mid, light hop bitterness and a long dry finish. A cool, inoffensive beverage. Perhaps a little too inoffensive depending on how you like a Helles.

M: Mid to light body with minimal carbonation, almost flat actually.

D: I could only think of one thing that sums up this brew: getting to the end of the glass I noticed this beer started smelling like an old rubber shoe. Like that old rubber shoe this Fürstenberg Premium Lager is a placid, mellow, and almost forgotten soon after it is noticed. If you're goal is to find a beer to fill an empty fridge on a budget the this brew isn't the worst idea you ever had (the worst idea you had was getting a credit card), however it isn't going to bowl your taste buds over, remember that.

Food match: I would be inclined to suggest a salad or something else light that doesn't compete too much with the flavour Fürstenberg has on offer.

A: Pours a light golden color with a nice head that fades to some lacing.

S: Aroma of malt sweetness, some grain and has a bit of citrus in the background.

T: tatse of a mild malt sweetness, with some fresh grain. Has a mild bitterness and a dry finish.

F: Fairly light body, crisp and refreshing. has a decent balance.

O: Nothing fancy but a nice relaxing beer that goes down easy. Better that most of the macro lagers.

Light goden shiny colour kicks things off well with some reasonably acceptable typically Germanic hops. Head is reasonably fluffy and their is that doughy quality in there at times but the malt makes to body too bloated and is a bit overwelmed by the carbonation. Ends without much fanfare and ultimately it just lacks individuality and dimension. A reasonable choice when surrounded by the usual suspects but this is far far from running with any of the class leaders.

A - clear yellow lager, next to no head or lacing, furious carbonation

S - sweet grains, barley, grassy hops

T - nicely balanced malts with a long bitter aftertaste

M - crisp and fizzy, light body

O - Not the most interesting beer on offer but very refreshing and drinkable nonetheless. I picked up a carton because it was very cheap and German. No regrets here.

Not much better than most of the mass-produced pale lagers you can get at a fraction of the cost. It was drinkable but not that enjoyable. A disappointment really, & one that I drank twice coming to the same conclusion on both occasions. Never again!

Poured from a bottle into a Hoegaarden pint glass in low altitude Galway, Ireland, on November 14th, 2010.

A: Pours a clear yellow. Three finger head has some cream and is thick. More appealing than most lagers, but nothing special.

Smell: Hops, clean barley, some malt. Standard fare.

Taste: Unflattering, poorly balanced body with notes of malted barley and weak hops. I expected better. Finish is awkward and unguided. Doesn't match the tone of the rest of the beer - in fact it clashes with it.

Mouthfeel: Actually a bit flat. Too smooth, too wet.

Dr: Got this at reduced price and it's still not worth it. I wouldn't have it again, especially with that nasty finish.
