On draft at Lures Bar and Grille in Crownsville, MD. My wife liked it but to me it had a definite flavor of cigarette smoke. I've never experienced that in beer before and it completely ruined it for me. To be fair, my wife didn't taste that so maybe it's just me.

Poured from the can into a nonik pint glass.
Deep dark brown walnut color and very opaque. Real nice ligh tan to khaki colored head, foamy rich at an easy four fingers of chunky height. Luts of clumpy lacing and retention. Very aggressive and dark for a brown ale.
Real interesting nose. Sticks to more of a char and dark roast character on the malt side, with a real good hint of carbon here. Coffee angle and char together is quite pleasant though, a bit fighting for scent real estate though. Doesn't hit milky, but also a little bit of brown spiced character too. Pretty good, but a bit unexpected.
Palate continues the theme. Light, and thinned coffee flavors, and a much more char and porter like roasty quality than brown ale. A bit wet on the body unfortunately, but there's a nice faint roast and coffee quality that's pleasant. Minimal bitterness on the finish, but some that adds some minor acrid like qualities to the base.
A relatively ok coffee beer.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of black coffee. Taste is strong dark roast coffee, little else. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but kind of a one trick pony. If you are a coffee lover, give it a shot.

Out of the can it pours a clear dark brown color. A moderate creamy tan head retains well.
I’m loving the aroma as it opens with sweet amber and dark malts that are nutty and biscuity. The coffee adds a great roasty touch that evokes notes of bittersweet dark chocolate. There are also creamy notes- perhaps lactose- as well as aromas of caramel, brown sugar, milk chocolate and woodsy hops for contrast.
Medium to full bodied and very smooth on the mouth. The carbonation is moderate to gentle. The taste opens with dark toasted malts, redolent of brown bread, as well as nutty and biscuity flavors. Unlike the aroma, the sweetness of the malts is a bit more subdued, dry in the palate and balanced by bright woodsy hops flavors. The hops add a touch of earthy bitterness, as well as the developing roasty flavor from the coffee. Yet, the coffee adds a deft touch, never overwhelms, and compliments the editions notes of caramel, dark fruit and chocolate. The finish is dry and lightly resiny.
One of the nicer brown ales I’ve tried as I’m also growing to appreciate more this underrated style. The addition of coffee contributed a nice flavorful touch.
