This British style pale ale was a golden-amber color with no visible head. It's aroma was faint and citrusy. The flavors are strongly hopped over a solid and complex malt backbone. It was actually hoppier than I expected for a brew that's described as tasting like it was from across the Pond. The strong old world hops served as an effective compliment to the barley flavors. This full-bodied beer was quite drinkable, and rather pleasant. I hope to have it again and see that the lack of head was the result of a mis-pour, and not a characteristic of the brew.

Pours a medium-dark amber, with a medium sized, dense tan head which mostly lasts and laces nicely. Aroma is caramel malt, slight breadiness, some nuttiness (almond?), and a bit of earthiness. Flavor is slightly sweet (caramel), slightly nutty, and ends with a bit of earthy hops. Medium body, super easy drinking. Had a pint with a handful of almonds and it matched perfectly.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub.
This English style pale ale poured a clear, copper color with creamy, off-white foam that coated the glass nicely. The smell was slightly sweet malt and some floral hops with a touch of grain. The taste was malty with a hint of caramel and bitter hoppiness in the finish. There were also trace notes of coffee and cocoa. The mouthfeel was dry and smooth with medium body and good carbonation. The aftertaste was pleasantly astringent. This was a very good pale ale and quite enjoyable.
