Pours a deep reddish orange, with a medium size creamy white head, laces in sticky bunches. Aroma starts fairly light, but increases as it warms - sweet, a bit spicey, some apple and banana. Flavor starts quite sweet and sugary, a bit fruitier in the middle, and ends with a surprising amount of hop bitterness (more than I expected it to have). Full bodied, definately much better as it approaches room temperature. Very drinkable for 8.6%.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

This Belgian Tripel poured a hazy, golden amber color with pillowy, white foam that settled but clung to the glass a bit. The smell was fruity (banana, mango, strawberry) with a touch of sugar and perhaps a bit of alcohol (fusel?). The taste was malty and fruity (banana) with a light sugary taste, and some bitter hops and perhaps a touch of phenols in the finish. The mouthfeel was very smooth and creamy with medium body and low carbonation feel. This was a very nice and enjoyable tripel.
