16oz pour from the brewery in Boulder, CO
A – A dark orange hued pour, almost brown in some light, head is tall and light oak in color. Lacing left behind is huge, thick, and clingy.
S – Wow coffee, this smells better than some of by morning cups of the black stuff. Very nice here, coffee notes are not overly bitter or tart, this is great.
T – Big coffee again, rich, dark roasts. Tastes like a really good cup of coffee. Hops only make an appearance on the finish, if only for their bitterness to compliment the already great flavor profile.
M – If anything, this is a little bit on the thick side of the spectrum. Not bad though considering the major dark roasted coffee notes.
O – What a surprise here, a very well done beer, coffee notes are strong and dominant, but a balance is struck nicely. This one really blew me away, I will be back for this one.

On tap at the brewery. Bright orange yellow color, good head. The aroma is almost all coffee and it's great! Flavor us mostly that beautiful coffee again with only the mildest notes of the hops underlying. This sort of reminded me of Stone's Dayman IPA. Overall this was good enough that I'll be going back for more. Delicious.
Smells like Ben and Jerry's coffee ice cream, excellent. Taste is excellent too. Stellar beer.

probably my favorite beer from my visit to fate yesterday evening. a really rich coffee ipa, thats equal parts coffee and ipa, a shocker for me, and way better than other attempts at this that i have had from others. past copper to an almost leather color, clear looking and quite frothy, dessert looking. the nose is the best part by a long shot, rich caramel roasty coffee, sweet and earthy but also really exotic and distinct, like very good espresso from somewhere far away. the caramel aroma is incredible, is like a coffee creme brulee, has that flair to it, that richness and that level of craftsmanship to do it right. the hops are big and sticky, and at first seem kind of out of place in a coffee beer, but the more i sit and sniff this, the more it makes perfect sense. like the way italians put lemon zest in espresso, this does the same thing. enhances it. the flavor is a lot like the nose, but the hops and intense and unique coffee seems more familiar now, tamed down a fair bit. while still compatible and really yummy, its not quite as dynamic and stunning to me. finish is double bitter and kind of aggressive after an otherwise very luxurious experience. top quality beer, made with really awesome coffee integrated extremely well. one of the more unique and delicious beers ive had in awhile, and top tier stuff from fate.

Poured from a growler filled at FATE; into a tulip.
Appearance - cloudy, reddish orange; thin bubbly, white head. Lacing is thin and soapy.
Smell - oh my! Very complex nose with coffee, caramel, pine tree and an herbal, grassy character!
Taste - follows the nose; one of the more complex beers I've had! Shocking to drink a beer that has features of a coffee stout, but looks like an IPA!
Feel - creamy, flavorful mouthfeel. Bitter coffee and hops balanced by rich caramel and roasted coffee bean! I could drink this any time of year!
Overall - FATE has some very artful and creative brews, and this one's my favorite!
