Sampled at the Modern Times Tasting Room, notes taken 11-05-13 for review.

A- Murky orange from the tap to a tulip with a tiny white cap. Head falls quickly to basically nothing and resembles a cider. Lace is beyond spotty.

S- For some reason cotton candy jelly bean comes to mind right away, kind of a strange fruity feel off the top. Deeper inspection reveals notes of dried pineapple, tangerine, stone fruits and some citrus.

T- The tropical and stone fruits from the nose are enhanced here and take over the bulk of the flavor profile. Dry pineapple, mango, clementine citrus, juicy fruit, floral and a slight pine feel. Only a bit of Brett feel but that is usually the case in 100% brews. Bread and dry sweet fruits come to mind.

MF- Creamy light bodied with a frothy-silky texture. Moderately carbonated and no substantial bitterness for an IPA.

Juicy stone and tropical fruits with minimal funky Brett feel, this can happen easily if a lot is pitched for the ferment. You can still feel the Brett but in a different way and it works with the hops chosen.

This is supposed to be brewed with 100% Brettanomyces. On tap at the brewery behind the Sports Arena. Cloudy pale yellowish ochre color in the tall tulip. Virtually no head but it is fairly spritzy in the tongue.

Big fruit flavor like a Saison. The brett is almost subtle to start. This really just tastes beery for half a glass, with some murky maltiness. Finally the yeasty taste seems to kick in, exuding that tangy, bitter flavor. The funk has arrived!

This has the waxy, fermented fruit flavor of some long-ago fruity soda. A slight sweet sensation with that peculiar meaty taste, along with hints of soap and bubble gum. The bitter aftertaste is a surprise. I'd forgotten this was supposed to be an IPA. A true oddball, but I think more experimentation with brett will yield some interesting beers beyond the usual Belgian categories.

Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with tangerine edges and a two finger white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks of lace left behind.

Floral hop aroma with resinous pine and subtle musty funk from the wild yeast. Dank buds, resinous oils, subtle citrus, pale biscuit malt, light fruit and graham cracker. Brett doesn't stand out with just a touch of funk. Smells more like a traditional west coast IPA with juicy papaya, mango and pineapple sweetness countering the sticky nugs and grassy pine resins.

Fuller end of medium body with a blast of dank, sticky hop bitterness that lingers over the funky yeast, pale malt and sweeter notes into a bone dry finish. Dank and resinous with oily hops and piney bitterness countered by lemon peel, grapefruit and pineapple sweetness. Brett stronger than expected with dry, musty funk, white peach and melon. Bread yeast with some biscuit and faint caramel sweetness.
