Our very first lager! This crisp, pale crusher was dry hopped with badass Australian Helga & Ella hops, imparting a floral, herbal complexity to this super tasty warm weather guzzler.

Pours a glowing yellow hue, pretty clear, with a nice amount of carbonation. Finger width head reduces to a thin, fluffy layer with fantastic retention and light lacing.
Smells very lager-forward with lots of grassy, grainy, straw aromas along with an undertone of bitter floral hops. Following through on the taste is lots of pale lager attributes; grass, crackers, straw, a touch of pilsner malt. Floral, dry hop goodness blends really well with the pale lager base, a bit of a juicy bite in the backbone and lots of grain and grass bitterness linger. Medium body with just a touch of dryness in the overall juicy finish.
Actually quite enjoyed this one. A nice example and take on the style.

22oz bottle with my FW Imperial Nonic glass
Notes taken on 06/21/2015
A: Light caramel amber body with some impeccable clarity showing off a vibrant bubble show inside. On the surface a tall sudsy paper white mass of froth forms over. Lively and somewhat quick to dispel back down into the glass. There stays back multi-layered tracks of sticky coarse lacing.
S: Smells quite pungent and unique with the essence of white wine grapes at the forefront. Grassy and floral with an interesting mixture of spice and herbs going on. Some mild malt underpins all the fruity and exotic hop aromas. Really drawn to this one as it has some very different qualities to it including honey dew melon, more white wine grape, and a bit of peppery spice.
T: Flavors start grassy and herbal with a lemony spice twist to it. The palate shifts into a flurry of melon fruit and white wine grape on through to the finish. I get some peppercorn spice in this and it comes across somewhat Sauvignon Blanc like. There is some very unobtrusive crackery malt lying underneath that moderate amount of perceived bitterness. Alcohol is really well masked and I am finding this to be very nice. Crisp and refreshing with spice hops and juicy fruit like qualities.
M: Light bodied with a crisp snappy pop from the carbonation. Moderate amounts of constricting bitterness there. Bone dry at the finish. Mostly clean with some mild lingering action.
D: Light, crisp, and tasty this one is very refreshing and easy to drink. The new found Aussie hops are definitely adding a unique twist. Can’t say I am in love with them but overall this was enjoyable.

Golden, perfectly clear, nice carbonation though the bubbles are a bit loose. Pretty much looks right on. Nose is pretty muted - ritz cracker, honey, grass, maybe a hint of dried flowers. Hops are much more present in the taste but still subdued, as is appropriate for the style. Nice crisp finish.
