This beer is the stickiest of the icky. It's a luxuriously hoppy IPA loaded up with intemperate quantities of Nelson, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, which are some of the fruitiest, dankest hops sweet, sweet money can buy. Despite its amber hue, Blazing World is pleasingly dry, sporting a lightly bready malt backbone that serves as platform for the huge & complex hop profile.

We don't get Modern Times distro'd in Marin County so finding this on Maui is a treat.
Not sure how fresh it is (16oz can poured into a basic ass glass) but there isn't one thing that I can point to that would render this beer anything less than outstanding/awesome. So it could be a week, a month or three months old. If more than a month, I might B my L in my P if I tried this fresh.
Dank, hoppy nose, a sexy golden hue, good creamy lacing and by damned if this isn't my favorite of the four MT beers I've tried while here on Maui.

Shared 1 US pint can at local tasting. Deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of pine / resin and sprucetips. Dry flavour, notes of resin and pine needles.

When i come across a beer that really is well made but i absolutely do not care for, i score all 3 s. I think the tangy flavor that is all the rage with my friends somehow comes across as a bad tangerine to me. Much like cilantro that people find tastes like dishsoap. Its ME not the beer’s fault. Peace out.

Look: Medium tannish head. The can says the srm is 11 but it doesn’t look that dark to me. I’d say more like a 7. Slightly cloudy. Slightly orange dark gold.
Smell: It doesn’t disappoint. Herbal, citrus, pine resin, grassy, maybe a little white bread.
Taste: Old school IPA. It doesn’t taste like 60 IBU’s, I guess the malts are sweet enough to soften the blow. (Not that 60 IBU is a big deal). There’s a lot of citrus and pine up front with not much sweetness. Definitely not cloying. Surprisingly dry finish. It’s not a dry as in, crisp, but not super heavy.
Overall: I really enjoyed it, I like the old school IPA style without the heavy sweeter malt backbone that is too sweet in my opinion. Good job Modern Times.

An excellently balanced IPA and my favorite one from Modern Times.

Pours with a hazy golden orange body and plenty of suds that leave sticky lacing.

Aromas of pomelo, passion fruit, pineapple, mango, mandarin, cantaloupe, basil and dank resin, backed up by a sweet caramel malt base.

The taste is not as bitter as you would expect from the aroma, but rather an expert balance of sweet, tart, bitter and dry. Notes of cantaloupe, mandarin, pineapple and passion fruit here as well as some spicy basil notes and a lemon rind and biscuit finish.

The texture is smooth and medium-bodied with a crisp finish.

Gotta love those Nelson Sauvin hops. Cheers!

Great tasting Amber IPA a bit sweet mostly dank and very reminiscent to me of nugget nectar from troeg. If I ever found it for $2 a pounder again I would get it for sure

Poured from can into tulip, good 2+ finger cream colored head, good retention, great lacing. Somewhat clear golden in the glass. Big citrus on the nose, slight pine and an underlying dankness of good things to come. Taste is sweet malt in the front, slight caramel sweetness, citrus, gooseberry some pine and in the middle there is some earthy floral notes. Finish is on the dry side, firm bitterness on the end. Good beer, keep going back to this one, easy drinker and the flavor holds throughout the session. Really digging modern times now that they have landed in Texas

09/04/20 Born on date. Traditional red ale look, but this isn’t a red IPA. Smell brings fruity, citrus, and the slight earthy notes. Taste is a very biscuity malt, not much bitter piney floral that you’d think by looks but rather fruity and slight citrus maybe even green apple sweet juice. Body was almost just right on this one for me, feels like a light meal. Overall an excellent beer, the dank wasn’t funky at all and mixed masterfully into the sweetness and would’ve preferred slightly less carbonation but that’s about it.

can dated 9/4/20 (today is 9/29)

mostly clear but a little hazy deep yellow-near-amber gold body with a billowing frothy cream foamed head that has moderate retention and leaves patches of sticky bubble lacing as it settles to an uneven ring around the cap

the aroma is straight up fairly pungent citrus hop with a nice side of biscuit-breaded malt

taste is the lush-citrus focus of grapefruit and orange with a soft and thick breaded malt backbone. earthed strain of hop flavor kicks in just in time to bring it on home to a very well rounded yet complex hop experience with a solid slice of malt.

moderate carbonation, medium-light body. earthy bitter bite of dryness for a finish

overall:
another "dank" claim, another slight "dank" miss. the dank-O-meter rates about half-mast here. it has a dankness to it, but it's not DANK. ya know? otherwise a solid entry from MT. has a pleasant malt profile that compliments the cranked hops nicely with a subtle sweetness and a firming up on the overall feel and flavor of the brew.
