A: A clear, almost fluorescent, golden yellow.

S: Yeast funk, pepper, white grapes, and a lot of sweetness.

T: The flavor is what you might expect from a pilsener brewed with a Belgian yeast. This is more like a Belgian Golden Ale or a Belgian Strong Pale Ale than a Saison.

M: A bit syrupy.

O: I've liked everything else I've had from Modern Times so far. This is by no means a bad beer but neither my style nor what I was expecting.

Poured from a tall-boy can into my Brasseurs De Garde tulip.

Hazy straw body with a faint whisper of beige up top that recedes to a vague ring. Delicate lacing, poor retention.

Slightly floral and peppery aromatics with a hint of grain/hay (sort of like a feed store). I can't decide if it is "delicate" or just weak.

The yeast dominates the flavor profile, with a pleasing peppery/funky bite. Hints of citrus and dandelion greens lead into the dry finish. Pils character cuts through the wheat and corn (the latter really isn't helping anything here; and the additional two-row malt seems just like more filler), though any hop flavor is muted despite a mild but palpable bitterness throughout.

Thin bodied, with insufficient carbonation for the style.

I was expecting more given the high skills proven by other offerings from this brewery, but this is still a decent domestic saison and an excellent value for the style.
