A- Cloudy golden honey with pinky head and medium to low retention. Low on legs

S- Citrus, some barnyard funk. Yeasty, hay..

T- Def farmhouse style. Some citrus with some funk.

M- Its a saison, not going to kill it on the M

O- I think this was a very enjoyable saison. Put it in a HF bottle, and ISO's would be posted.

A: A clear, almost fluorescent, golden yellow.

S: Yeast funk, pepper, white grapes, and a lot of sweetness.

T: The flavor is what you might expect from a pilsener brewed with a Belgian yeast. This is more like a Belgian Golden Ale or a Belgian Strong Pale Ale than a Saison.

M: A bit syrupy.

O: I've liked everything else I've had from Modern Times so far. This is by no means a bad beer but neither my style nor what I was expecting.

A: Poured with an unfiltered haze and a thick fluffy peak of foam.
Perfect beer for spring weather.
S: bready malts, grassy, grape and apple skin
T: lots of fruity yeast character up front. The soft sweet malt character comes through and is very light and lively. A little herbal presence from the hops but not much.
M: crisp mouthfeel from the light body and ample carbonation.
O: the perfect spring weather beer. Light enough warm days but flavorful enough for the cooler evenings.

a: hazy golden yellow with a frothy white 2 finger head

s: belgian yeast. coriander, pepper, clove. caramel wheat, cardboard, lemon & orange zest. lemongrass

t: coriander, bubblegum, spicy yeast, pepper, caramel malt. there is sweet citrus (orange, apricot) that follows the initial spicy yeast. finishes with a clean graininess

m: fuller side of light, with a pretty nice amount of carbonation

o: this is much better than i expected. it has a nice combination of spice from the yeast, spice from what i think is coriander, and is balanced out by the sweet citrus and grains. very refreshing, and full of nice flavors

Can into stemmed belgian glass.

Appearance is an almost clear hazy straw yellow with two finger soapy white head.

Aroma is strong belgian yeast esters, earthy hops, and sure enough a pilsner malt whiff. Phenolic spicy pepper, lemon peel, clove, green apple peel, and intriguingly so a malty corn aroma almost akin to the smell of the water in which whole corn has been boiled. Just lightly though, a quick poke in the nostril.

The flavor brings about more of the earthy hops, herbal notes, pepper, lemon peel, corn syrup, and a healthy dose of cracked wheat crackers.

Mouthfeel is light with a nice touch of creaminess that suits the beer well and makes it feel like a cross between saison and belgian golden ale.

Overall this is a nice sessionable ale. You get blond ale characteristics mixed in with spicy and earthy saison essence. Doesn't live up to the beautiful Fortunate Islands beer that they make but still quite nice.
