Zen is balance, the clear morning air, feeling the flow. Zen is purpose and determination and detachment. Not bitter, but hoppy and bright. This Session Pale emanates hints of orange zest and lemongrass. Zen is doing the right thing right.

A 12oz can with a production date of Feb 2017; no visible BB date. Acquired a little while back from the Brewdog webshop. The label describes it as a session IPA with hints of orange zest and lemongrass.
A: Poured into a tulip. A hazy golden colour with moderate carbonation and fine floating sediment. Not sure if yeast or protein. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of grass/hay, herbs, leafiness, lemon, subtle citrus, pale malt, faint grain and earthy yeast. Crisp, refreshing and balanced - lovely.
T: Tastes of pronounced aromatic hops with notes of herbs, pine, grass/hay, leafiness, citrus, grainy malt, a touch of barley sugar and earthy yeast. Pretty dry, with a robust hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with light carbonation and average body for the style. A shade on the thin side and lacking in texture. Aftertaste of bitter herbal hops, grass, faint citrus, grain and earthiness.
O: A solid session IPA - its relative dryness boosts the hop character. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are a well-judged hop fest underpinned by subtle malt and yeast. So-so body; could be thicker and livelier. However, it still goes down without complaint. Well worth sampling.

Pours a hazy gold color, with a white head.
Smell is citrusy hops, grapefruit and oranges.
Taste follows the nose, resinous hops with citrus notes.
Mouth feel is crisp, medium bodied, nice carbonation.
Definitely a tasty, solid session IPA!

12 ounce can, canned on 06/03/16. One of my buddies gave me a can last weekend. Served in a Rhinegeist pint glass, the beer pours a hazy gold color with some orangey tints. There's about an inch off-white head that stayed around a while with a good amount of lacing. The brew smells mostly like citrusy (citrus peel, lemongrass) hops and some bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some spicy hops noticeable. There's also a slight lingering bitter finish. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick with a good amount of carbonation. I think it's a nice session IPA, one I'd like to try fresher next time.
