12oz can into a pint glass.

Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a thin, soapy white head that quickly fades into a few bubble. No lacing to speak of.

Aroma of juicy tropical fruit with some hefty floral notes thrown in there as well. A touch of grass too. Really quite nice.

The flavor is extremely juicy and mango and passionfruit. More flowers and light hints of grass. There is a very light note of caramel and bread in the background but it is all but covered up by the hops. Moderate bitterness but the mouthfeel is very light and watery as to be expected from such a low-alcohol beer.

I happen to really like the Session IPA style and this beer fits the bill perfectly. Another great beer from this brewery.

Very nice session brew from one of my favorite local brewers. Smooth, appropriately hoppy, and, most importantly, very drinkable. Thumbs up!

I'm not a fan of a Session IPA, just hoppy water, but this has a great feel and smoothness. My problem is the hop profile is very chivey and has a touch of onion. Oh, that's not my favorite. So it's not my style and not my hops.

A: Pours a medium golden yellow in color with heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and some faint lemon yellow + brassy highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film that covers the majority of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit rind, pine/resin, and floral + spicy hops over the top of a lightly grainy malt.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of slightly sweet grainy malts. That is followed by moderate flavors of hops - citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit rind, resin, floral, and spicy. Light amounts of bitterness which lingers for a moderate amount of time.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp but just a touch thin.

O: Super easy to drink with a nice hop profile and not too much bitterness or sweetness. Well balanced with a low ABV definitely making this a sessionable brew. Definitely one that I would grab again.

The summer of "session" is upon us. As the insatiable taste for hops are realized, the consumption of all those American IPA can fatigue the palate as well as the mind. But with the help of Rhinegeist Zen, we benefit from the taste of hops but with the sensibility of session ale. ...thank God!

Their hazy and pale goldenrod session IPA carries harks to its faint toasted sweetness, characteristic of biscuit, light honey and caramel, and mild toast and buttered pecan. But all that is short as the hops quickly engulf the early palate and nose with strong and perfumy citrus, tropical and a curious chardonnay note.

As the malty sweetness trails, the hops pull forward more so, bringing a higher sense of candied grapefruit and orange with tropical mango, pineapple and apricot. Tangy acidity drops in with a faint wine and gin brightness. Though its body drops out, the hops are more than happy to carry the show thereafter.

Its dry and light-bodied finish is smoothly bitter with the acidic hops keeping the ale crisp, clean and highly refreshed. its pleasant herbal grassiness lingers briefly as wisps of grain and copper left in aftertaste.

I think this is a great beer. Smooth profile, but nice and bitter. Real easy drinker. Love it.

Very resiny aroma, grassy and oniony, with a dank cannabis character.

Flavor is herbal and grassy, earthy, with a touch of grapefruit to counter,a mild malt sweetness, and a resiny bitter finish. Refreshing, though a bit overly bitter for my palate.
