Saber Tooth Tiger is a Prehistoric IPA that attacks the senses with potent notes of Papaya, Mango and Peach yet finishes it's prey (your palate) with a crisp clean citrus bitterness.

Pours a clean off orange, light head with moderate lacing. Smells great. Papaya, Pineapple ..just overall tropical. Upon the tongue, there’s a very sharp sweetness that has notes of papaya with some melon wash. Finishes crisp, lots of carbonation. Overall well done.

A double IPA in a 12 oz can: what a novel concept! Top-notch IPA for fans of the West Coast. Only drawback is the light, straw-color appearance.

I feel like writing this review backyards from my norm and just say, "It's highly recommended." But I won't.
It pours medium-light yellow with just a tad of haze and nice lacing. The aroma is clean and hoppy. No skunky stuff here. The taste confirms that this is an American style imperial IPA but a very unique one. Let's give this style a new name: Ohio River Damn Good IPA.
Highly recommended. It's a great big IPA at a popular price. I absolutely will seek out more while it is fresh. My favorite Rhinegeist, by far.

Scrappy notes from 2016.
Cans from Mejer's Grocery store outside Cincy, OH.
95IBU LTD Release. Crisp and smooth together. A great feel. It is hop forward and very citrusy and fruity, mango, papaya, peach. Heavily bodied, a little bit sweet and kind of sticks to the palate. It does drink like an 8.5%ABV. Excellent.

12oz canned on 01/15/20 (28 days ago) poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass at fridge temp 8.5% ABV 95 IBU. The beer pours mostly bright golden yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a splotchy cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is tropical fruit, ripe peach and earthy, dank hops. The taste is more of the same with big bitterness throughout. There is some solid pils malt in the background, which is tough to pull off with this level of hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. A little hop sticky, but not sweet. Overall, excellent.
