Presentation: 12 oz green bottle with a gold foiled neck, “best before end” freshness date on the back label.
Appearance: Big frothy chunky cream coloured head sticks sporadically, deep brown hue holing a sublime clearness that possibly shows strong filtering.
Smell: Big malty, bread aroma. Spicy smell feigns rye with cracker maltiness and hop in the nose. Clean to the nose.
Taste: Nice crispness that is structured well with the medium carbonation and full graininess. Maltiness bring a handful of sweetness but more grassiness of the grain, more graininess piles on to bring in a slow astringency. Odd mild toasted malt comes forth off the astringent flavour. Hops get mixed around, yet don’t get in the way. Palate goes thin and husky tearing away at the want to drink this brew.
Notes: Sadly this brew turns into something that may have been good to something that is a tad hard to drink. There are better dark lagers in the world that will beat this one time and time again.
