Beck’s Premiere Light has little going for it. The aroma is skunky, the body is light and watery, and the finish is almost non- existent. Tastes present include light grain, an apple and lime mixture, and grassy hops. In many ways, it is typical of a big name light brew but in other ways it is very different.

How is this beer different? Well, for starters it has fewer calories than almost any other light beer and its alcohol content is about half that of most beer products. But what is unusual is that Beck’s Premier Light still manages to offer some good beer taste. Granted, this isn’t a very pronounced or award- worthy level of taste but it is at least equal to or better than other light beers, including those with twice the alcohol.

Beck’s Premier Light is a good choice of beer when you’re craving the taste of malt and hops but don’t want the calories, carbs, or alcohol. It is a little better than the worst light beers on the market (is that a compliment??) and it does offer an easy drinking formula that light beer advocates will enjoy.

Six pack of 355ml little green bottles.

Looks paler than any other lager I've seen.

Smells like any other lager, but from far away. Very weak aroma.

Tastes more like lager-flavoured water, than a lager. Light and refreshing, and you will not get drunk from this.

Nice for it's niche (light beers), but very bland and boring.

Beck’s Premier Light has a thick, white head, a clear, bubbly, straw appearance, and basically no lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweetness, bread, and cracker, with a touch of grass, and the flavor is of those elements, but at an extremely faded level. The mouthfeel is very light and watery, and Beck’s Premier Light finishes crisp, clean, dry, refreshing, easy drinking, and dull.
