12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Best before 7/2012.

Pours crystal-clear straw color with 1-2 fingers of white head. Head recedes to nothing almost immediately. Heavily carbonated, looks almost like ginger ale.

The smell is very faint, so faint it's hard to distinguish anything. There's no head to keep any aroma in. What smell there is... is not encouraging.

Slight hop bitterness in the open, replaced by some sickly-sweet malts and grains. Heavy metallic taste. No bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel is watery and overly-carbonated.

A friend left 5 of these behind in the fridge and then left for Japan the next day. I guess they're mine, now. I can't say I'm too excited about that.

Beck's in a can.

Light golden with plenty of fizz. Hordes of carb streams rising from the glass bottom. The head was here and gone. Little 3/4 ring around the top.

Not much in the nose. Some light grain and grassiness. Maybe a hint of minerally well water. Pretty blah.

A recognizable Euro hop starts the sip with light bitterness at first, and carrying on into the finish. Still with the mineral taste. Cooked rice signature on the grain. Some funky off-flavors attributed to adjuncts, and not the age of the can (best before April, 2012). Vegetal and tinny. At LEAST, there's hop character. Bonus points added.

Fizzy, almost disintegrating in the mouth. Thin, but not watery. Lacking some crispness. Ok.

I'll always be able to pass this one up. Drinking one reminds of the scene in 'Regarding Henry' when Harrison Ford's physical trainer calls it expensive beer.

Minimal head which disappeared fast.
Aroma is of malts and hops.
Taste is bitter.
Thin in body on the palate and quite carbonated. The ABV was stated on the label to be 4.9% and not 5.
