While watching Beer Fest the movie, we had a sudden urge to buy some German beer. Well we came across Warsteiner Dunkel and Beck's Oktoberfest. I wish we bought cases of Beck's, because it was so good. The appearance was great, a nice red/amber color w/ a thick, creamy white head.
The smell was of bready, sweet malts.
The taste was smooth, flavorful, and very surprising. This is what I imagine the typical, but exceptional, German beer to taste like. Nothing to blow your mind, but so drinkable.
The mouthfeel & drinkability are nothing short of incredible. We had the choice of the aforementioned Dunkel or Beck's Oktoberfest and I kept going back to the Beck's. It's so well-rounded and consistent. It went perfectly with Beer Fest. Enough with this review though, back to the Beck's.
