First Oktoberfest of the year. Not really a beer to have in August while I'm down in FL, but I get excited when I see the O-fest beers come out.
Popped the cap off; took a "nice" good whiff of that Euro-funk. If I was blind I would have thought I purchased a regular Becks. Poured into a nonic. Color is a nice rich auburn that a good Oktoberfest should have. It left minimal lacing, but I wasn't expecting much.
Taste is pretty good, despite that green bottle skunky flavor that is in the background. Mouthfeel is thin with a lot of carbonation. This is an okay Oktoberfest for that transition from summer styles to autumn beers. It's light, refreshing and not heavy at all. Certainly sessionable at only 5% ABV but after two you're ready for something with a more complex flavor. Not bad from a Macro though and the best from Beck's.
