Pours a clean reddish amber color with an off-white head that is tight and long lasting. Sheets of lacing line the inside of the standard pint. The nose is of roasted malts and a touch of fresh bread. Floral hop aromas hide in the background. The palate is on the sweet malty side in Oktoberfest fashion, but does contain a healthy amount of herbal/floral hop balance to keep it from being overly sweet or cloying. Finish is nice and silky with low acidity and only moderate carbonation. Definitely an un-challenging Oktoberfest, but doesn't this kind of define the style as it is now. Really quite drinkable and much more flavorful than the "typical" Beck's offerings. Nice.
