Poured from a 12 oz green bottle, best before June 2009, into a pint glass.
Pours a light thin layer of head that fizzles ever so quickly. No lace at all. Color is a nice mahagony red/orange.
Definately smells like a Beck's. A very light smell of slightly roasted malts and a hint of hops. Taste has a distinct carmel flavor to it. After it lingers enough, alcohol becomes present. Very little hop flavor tasted.
Carbonation level is very low. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth, but just a touch of bitterness is there.
Overall, not my favorite beer. Something I probably won't buy again. There are other Oktoberfests out there that appeal to me more.
