The city of Port Clinton, Ohio needed this brewery and I feel they have a niche for creating a very good product. Their IPA's are very good, especially the "Black Insularium", but to make it they have to survive this coming Winter. A few suggestions: they need to open earlier - 3:00 PM on a Saturday isn't good; food is another serious need; and pricing - I've heard from some residents that they can't afford to go there. I hope they make it, but only time will tell. (470 characters)

These guys are trying, but does anyone remember Frontwaters? They tried too. Alebird tried every beer CIB has offered so far and only a couple were drinkable. Many have off flavors and weird characteristics. Their Red ale was brown and their Brown ale was red in color. One beer was named "Rye." That's it, just Rye. Rye what? Rye PA? Rye Red? Rye whiskey? Rye...what? One of the wait staff didn't know what a Saison style beer was. The place is very loud and echoey. They're a young brewery and have a lot to learn. Alebird wants them (and all breweries) to succeed and they are trying, but if they don't get it figured out, they may very well follow in Frontwaters' footsteps. These words are not meant to slam and dismiss. These words are meant to shake CIB up. Most of their beers are not very good. They can do much better if they try harder and learn their craft better. They are the only brewery between Toledo and Cleveland and traveling from one to the other on a regular basis, it would be nice to stop midway and grab a good brew, one without funky esters and mis-matched ingredients. (1,095 characters)
